While Dur Doux (pronounced "dur-do") is the French translation of 'Hard Soft', this season's collection was dubbed 'La Nouvelle Mosaïque', meaning 'The New Mosaic'. This inspiring collection for Autumn/Winter 2022 was shown in a lavish décor of flowers from Marginpar on the runway during the NY Fashion Week.

Bold Statements

Twice a year, fashionistas hold their breath for the latest trends during New York Fashion Week (NYFW), where (inter)national fashion designers show their latest collections to the press and public. One of the most colorful fashion shows has to be of the fairly young brand Dur Doux. The label specializes in bold, statement-making evening gowns and party dresses with a global feel, finding inspiration in Africa, India, and beyond.

Dur Doux – FW22

Dur Doux, the ready-to-wear women's accessible luxury lifestyle brand and Red Carpet Label, founded by mother-daughter duo Cynthia and Najla Burt, presented its vibrant FW22 collection, "La Nouvelle Mosaïque". Their Autumn/Winter collection was filled with prints inspired by contemporary mosaic art. The look: a lavishly textured take on day-to-evening dressing for women and men. The brightly colored palette showed focal colors of Pantone Color of the Year 'Very Peri', goldenrod yellow, cobalt blue, and jungle green.

Colorful Floral Decorations

The show in Bryant Park, NYC, was a dazzling sight. Not only because of the beautiful models and newest fashion but also because of the floral decorations. Marginpar’s purple clematis, blue eryngiums, and white astrantias added even more color to the scene.

The floral design for this NYFW location was created by Melissa Sullivan’s team at Le Bloomerie. Le Bloomerie specializes in fine art floral wedding and event design and is featured in Vogue, Style Me Pretty, Magnolia Rouge, and more. They love designing large dreamy floral installations and arches. This shows at Dur Doux: the models strolled through a floral archway, while flower designs covered the runway as they walked.
