Ready to learn from Japanese Master Florist Atsushi Taniguchi?
During the extended masterclass Atsushi will demonstrate 3 different types of bouquets and a tall vase arrangement, showing his iconic style, lush, romantic, inspired by flamboyant French style. He will explain some aspects of his special technique and approach and talk about the philosophy of his floral design. “Taking a photograph, creating a floral bouquet - each produces a similar thrill. In becoming a florist, I did not train under anybody particular; instead, I read everything on flowers that I could, gradually discovering my likes and dislikes. I opened “Jardin du I’llony” in 2002 in Ashiya, a small city between Osaka and Kobe. After honing my aesthetic sense through insights from discerning customers, I soon found myself creating floral arrangements for high-end French jewelry shops. Seven years later, I launched a shop in Tokyo’s posh Aoyama neighborhood. It was at this turning point that I became determined to open a branch in Paris. I soon developed the desire to display my floral creations in Paris, the city I adored from afar for so long.”  - Atsushi Taniguchi
During the first part from 10 am till 12 am Atsushi will demonstrate two different types of bouquets in his iconic romantic style and share his vision on floral design. During the second part from 1 pm till 3 pm the master will demonstrate a tall vase arrangement and a wedding bouquet. After the masterclass, all the participants will be given a chance to ask questions and there will be an autograph session as well.
  Atsushi Taniguchi:
As he dreamed of working with the movie world, one movie which he watched changed his life and he found the charm of being a florist. In 2000, he started "Jardin du I'llony" in Kobe with a concept of sexual charm of flowers and balance of nature. At the same time, he has started taking photos of flowers. In 2002, he opened his first shop called “Florist Jardin du I'llony" in Ashiya. Since then, he has been working with high-end luxury brands like Cartier and Hermes, creating flower arrangements for interior and special events, and also gift flowers for their clients. In 2009, he opened his 2nd shop "florist jardin du I'llony" in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. Also, he expands his area of creation and expression with self-published FLOWBULOUS magazine. In 2009, he organized FLOWBULOUS 001 Ritz Carlton suite flower party. In 2015, he opened his 3rd shop, in Paris, being the first Japanese who opened a flower shop in Paris as a branch. He has created flower decorations for the ball "BAL DE L'ETE", the famous summertime gala conceived by Princess Catherine Colonna de Stigliano under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. He also does periodic floral decoration at Les Bains Paris, a noted 5-star hotel in Paris and gives lessons.
The masterclass will take place at the Fragrant Garden in Aalsmeer, close to the flower auction.   Know that in the same week two international trade fairs are held; the Flora Holland Trade Fair in Aalsmeer, and the International Trade Fair in Vijfhuizen, both within 30 minutes from the Fragrant Garden.
