Twisted trunks and spread branches are set against ethereal skies, fresh snow, and solitary areas of nature. The photos, which were taken all throughout Finland, from southern Finland to Lapland, attest to perseverance and beauty.
The Inspiration Behind Photographing This Dreamy Spot
When traveling to a relative's cabin, Lagerstedt first became inspired to photograph these surreal scenes. He frequently captures nature in his photographs with little to no sunshine, which lends the scenes a sense of serenity and tranquility. The photos in the 't r e e s' series were modified in Photoshop and Lightroom between 2018 and 2019.
Lagerstedt shared with the world that he wants to make people appreciate the never-ending beauty of trees with his photographs. While trees are all around us in splendor, he mentions how we hardly ever see them in our daily lives. They share a lot of tales with the human world about life and the battle to endure under difficult circumstances.
Mikko’s Backhand Story on How He Started in the Photography World
Mikko Lagerstedt is a Southern Finland-based landscape photographer. He has always been captivated by art, paintings, and the ability to create something from nothing. His photography has a simple, dreamlike aesthetic and hundreds of viewers really enjoy his photographic art.
Through his photography, Mikko hopes to reconnect you with nature, take you to a timeless, serene, and beautiful world, and evoke in you a sense of what it means to be alive and to be a human. The person who most inspired him as he was growing up was his grandmother, who has created stunning paintings and sketches all of her life.
Mikko couldn't fathom how her grandma or anybody else produced such exquisite works of art. Of course, as a little child, the now-renowned photographer attempted to create drawings and paintings. Yet, he never dedicated enough time to learning until photography found him. During the past fifteen years that Lagerstedt has been taking pictures, he has always done it for himself and kept on pursuing his real passion.
When he was a kid he also remembers playing outside as his favorite activity. Regardless of the weather, Mikko frequently spent his free time outdoors with friends and siblings, making this the turning point for when his love for the outdoors started.
