The closest genre that Craig P. Burrows believes he specializes in is "alternative-light photography", something that stems from an obsession with taking detailed shots of various objects under infrared, ultraviolet, and ultraviolet-induced visible fluorescent light.
In this particular series, the Californian photographer has experimented with a range of different flowers and plants that look almost alien under different types of light. The methods he uses help to pick out the tiny details that the naked eye might not see, such as speckles of pollen or tiny hairs on petals. Amazingly, Craig is completely self-taught, having come from an academic background mainly in physics and being co-owner of a small manufacturing business where he often picks up a camera to take product photos for sales and marketing purposes.
