TAK Global, known for its leadership in agricultural projects since 1992, has built its reputation not just on production, but on its profound regard and esteem for workers as well as meaningful contributions to surrounding communities. Over the years, the Guatemalan company's initiatives have evolved from individual support for long-time employees to comprehensive programs benefiting education, public spaces, and workers' well-being across its plantations.
Story #1 - One of Dedication and Gratitude
When TAK launched its Northern projects in 1992, Mr. Procopio Córdoba Sucup became the first person hired, earning the code number 1. His humility and dedication quickly earned the admiration of founder Alfredo Mirón, who affectionately referred to him as "Worker No. 1" during company meetings with obvious appreciation for him.

After decades of loyal service, Mr. Procopio retired in 2022 and became eligible for his pension through IGSS. In recognition of his solid commitment and stable contribution to the company’s growth, Mr. Mirón asked how TAK could express its gratitude. Mr. Procopio’s request was simple yet meaningful: he had long dreamed of owning a decent home, a dream he couldn’t realize due to financial constraints. Until then, he had lived with his parents.

In response, they fulfilled that dream, gifting him a dignified home of his own—a gesture that exemplifies the company’s human-centered philosophy and its genuine appreciation for employees’ lifelong work.
TAK's Initiatives to Support Workers’ Well-being
This housing project for Mr. Procopio is just one of several efforts the Guatemalan company has undertaken to improve the lives of its workers, making sure social responsibility is one of the main core values at all times.
Across all plantations and packing facilities, TAK provides safe drinking water through easily accessible water stations. Workers are equipped with the necessary personal protective gear tailored to their tasks: rubber boots, gloves, aprons, face masks, cold-storage jackets, gaiters, and more.

Formal restroom facilities—not makeshift or temporary solutions—are installed throughout the farms to ensure proper hygiene for field workers. These consistent investments mirror their responsibility to create respectful and safe work environments at all operational levels.
Ongoing Contributions to Education and Community Projects
The group’s sense of responsibility extends well beyond its workforce. For more than 15 years, they have supported Fundación Kinal, a non-profit educational center that provides technical training to youth from low-income families. Many graduates of Kinal have gone on to secure positions in national and international companies, creating a prolonged positive impact.
Additionally, they sponsor scholarship programs aimed at strengthening middle management, supporting students who complete technical studies and wish to advance to higher levels. This program covers three years of education: two years in technical fields and an additional academic year.
In addition to its collaboration with Fundación Kinal, they have supported local schools, municipalities, daycare centers, and elder care homes. These contributions include assistance with infrastructure projects like painting, recreational equipment, and other improvements, coordinated through their administrative staff in communities such as Salamá, San José Pinula, and Dueñas.

A Broader Vision of Social Responsibility by TAK Global
The teamwork demonstrates that corporate success can go hand in hand with care for people and communities. From providing workers with safe conditions and equipment to funding scholarships and community projects, they have positioned themselves as a company that is wholeheartedly connected to the lives of those they employ and the regions where they operate.

Through these efforts, TAK Global shows that respect for workers, as well as investment in education and community wellbeing, are not side projects, but are essential to how the company defines long-term, sustainable success.
