About Honey and Poppies
Honey & Poppies is a Southern California floral design studio providing modern florals for weddings, events, and editorials. Some of our obsessions include: flora of all types, complex color palettes, carefully curated details, and creating things that you haven't seen before. Our signature style is sculptural and textural; refined but a bit undone. We're into drama AND simplicity, and believe you can most definitely have both. We're always searching for that happy place where floral design meets fine art. Oh, and in case it isn't obvious - we really, really love flowers.
Megan Gray is the founder and creative director of Honey & Poppies. She has had her hands in flowers since childhood, having grown up in a flower shop owned by her parents. She finds inspiration everywhere; from art to archaeology, from natural sciences to pop culture. She prefers to offset beauty with a little bit of grit- finding beauty not just in classically romantic blooms but in odd varieties, wispy accents, and strange weedy grasses poking out of cracks in the ground.
Megan started designing for weddings when she was just 19. Nearly 20 years later, she's a master of her craft but thinks there's always room to learn something new. Megan's work has been featured in print and all over the web, including in Martha Stewart Weddings, Design*Sponge, Refinery 29, Elle Decor, The Los Angeles Times, Vogue Italia, Brides, Once Wed, 100 layer cake, Green Wedding Shoes, Style Me Pretty, and The Knot.
