J Schwanke about Produce Business:
"It’s a ‘lifestyle’ show centered around flowers – and of course, flowers are my passion, I’m honored that Produce Business has recognized this accomplishment, and, as I may not be as well known in the Produce Business circles, I wanted to briefly highlight some aspects of the show.”
“While developing a show about flowers for television, we were encouraged to think of ways to expand the reach of the show by including food, cocktails, travel, crafts, etc.. For example, including a cooking or cocktail segment - with, of course, a flower connection or ingredient - is a great way to reach the fan base around cooking shows, and cast a flower net around them, so to speak.”

Flowers Are an Obvious Muse
The show features creative flower arranging ideas, such as including fruit or vegetables, which is something J Schwanke has enjoyed doing for years, but maybe the consumer has never seen. J Schwanke’s Life In Bloom travels to flower farms and events, and welcomes guests who share how their interests converge with flowers. He enjoys interacting with guests, and learning about their passions.
The show likewise expands its reach is through arts and crafts. Schwanke enthuses: “Flowers are an obvious muse for so much of life, from architecture details, to fine art, to fiber arts, to your own crafting circle, it’s always a joy to try my hand at an art or craft project themed to flowers!” See one of J’s projects here.

J Schwanke's two messages about flowers are: 1. Please yourself – and – 2. Enjoy the health and wellness benefits flowers provide. Schwanke emphasizes:
“Don’t be intimidated by a bouquet at the store – as I demonstrate in every episode, arranging flowers is easy, enjoyable, and you only have to please yourself. Studies have documented the many benefits that you will experience from arranging flowers, including relaxation, happier feelings, and incredibly, a release of endorphins. Even just looking at an image of flowers has been documented as a way to de-stress.”
