It's the time of year when stars twinkle in the eyes of children big and small. It's wintertime, and—even better—it's Christmas time! A pop-up store is a simple, effective, and authentic concept. And, being a great lover of end-of-year celebrations, I jumped on the adventure of a pop-up store to show the beauty of Amaryllis cut flowers
In this search for authenticity, I made the choice of products and flowers characteristic of Christmas. In these emblematic Christmas products, there is of course the masterful Amaryllis; they are undoubtedly the most elegant cut flower of the Christmas holidays, both majestic and warm.
Here's the story of my pop-up store with this wonderful wintery flower.
Amaryllis' Great Diversity
The very great diversity of colors and shades gives it a rare talent for cut flowers of this magnitude. A talent to magnify all the compositions and bouquets in which we will have slipped this little jewel. The diversity of shape and underlines this as well. Oscillating between round or tapered petals the shape of this spectacular flower will be an essential ally to transform all our creations.
In my small pop-up shop, the Amaryllis has a special place, arranged in large baskets with some good friends: foliage, branches, and other winter-season berries. They are real customer magnets. I had the large baskets—I must admit—ingeniously installed on the sidewalk to attract passers-by. A surprised customer is a seduced customer, and very often the customer is inclined to spend on one or more bouquets with Amaryllis because, yes, this flower is also capable of being found alone in a vase and it will not be lost, it will have its place there.
A Flower for All Kinds of Creations
Amaryllis, also known as Hippeastrum, is also the flower most open to creation, whether cut short in a vase, stuck high with branches, the stem split to gain flexibility, or even see the head down the hollow stem filled with water. This flower is a real outlet for creativity!
Yes, it is true that it is a flower of which the cost remains high but due to its size, this flower is unmatched when it comes to its looks in a vase. And, of course, its longevity. It is also true that the production of these gigantic flowers is very complex, so it is normal that the producers of these beauty complexes are paid their fair value.
When the eyes of customers rest on the gigantic flowers, a particular phenomenon occurs. This product has the power to both amaze and fall in love with, almost hypnotize. However, doubt survives in the eyes of my customers. It is then up to me to use pedagogy and creativity to make them understand that this great lady is the ideal flower for their interiors, their holiday tables, or for creating bouquets and compositions. I would also like to emphasize a particular fact; it is a very rare cut flower that infuses its beauty and fascinating majesty in the hearts of women and men. Amaryllis is chic, isn't it? A flower that is capable of seducing generations and genres, few plants have this power.
Not 'Just' a Christmas Flower
Amaryllis should not be considered 'just' a Christmas flower, because its season continues until spring. So, it is quite natural to add it to our Valentine's Day flower catalog as well. And hey, it's also available in red, which is good, and men love it. Therefore, don't hesitate to create beautiful compositions to declare your love. So, see you on Valentine's Day!
I adored this flower from the moment when the first box opened. Amaryllis, I love you, I love you, I LOVE YOU!
All the best from Gaétan, have a wonderful Christmas!
