It’s no wonder that Yuji Kobayashi named his studio Geometric Green. His art is all about squares, triangles, circles, and cylinders – straight lines and symmetry.
Symmetry is Key
Flawless technique and the use of nothing but first-class materials results in floral arrangements bordering on perfection. Symmetry is key in Kobayashi's arrangements.
Yuji Kobayashi (born 1963), after starting off with various activities in the field of music, decided to change his career and become a flower design artist by studying basic flower design on his own.
Since then he has spent 27 years pursuing ways for better and more beautiful flower designs. His uniqueness is based on geometry and the minimalism of Zen-ish design. Yuji was one of the chief designers and executive manager at YouKaEn (2008 - 2011).
Beauty, purity, and quality are the three guiding principles that have carried Japanese company YouKaEn from its humble beginnings to its present-day pre-eminence in the field of creative floral design. Beauty is inherent in every flower, but it is the task of the designer to transcend this beauty and to create an object that is the perfect union of nature and human imagination, that is pure, refined, and graceful.
Yuji became famous in 2012 with his flower art collection book “Tokyo Flowers” which was published. Flawless technique and the use of nothing but first-class materials results in floral arrangements bordering on perfection.
