To create a great look for a ballroom dance event, you need to carefully think about the florets you will use to decorate the ballroom. You should note that the blooms you select have a significant impact on the mood of the event, so you need to take the time to select the right ones.

To help you out, here are tips you need to pay attention to for you to make the right choice:

Choose Flowers That Are in Plenty

You should note that different florets are available in plenty at different times of the year. Case in point, Ranunculus are in plenty in spring and early summer, while Snowdrops are available in winter.

To be on the safe side, choose florets that are in plenty. This way, you ensure they are of the highest quality, last longer, and are cheaper.

To save money and have high-quality blooms, stick to tulips, Bluebells, and anemones in spring, Snapdragons and Sweet peas in summer, Agapanthus in autumn, and Helleborus in winter.

Think about the Event Day Weather

You need to consider the time of the year you are having the event and choose the florets that will be ideal for the weather. For example, if you will be having your event in a room with a lot of direct sunlight, the delicate flowers will suffer so it’s better to for tougher ones.

In the same way you choose comfortable dancing shoes from Ballroom Shoes, you should stick with stems that align with the weather conditions on the day of the event.

You might be wondering how you can tell how the weather will be when you are having your ballroom event, but you should know that there are many accurate weather apps that you can use to your advantage.

All you need to do is download the weather app and then check the predicted weather conditions on your event date.

If you aren’t sure about the right flowers to go for, get the input of a professional florist.

Go with Flowers That Are Within Your Budget.

Flowers go at different prices, which means that the ones you go with will be heavily determined by the amount of money you are looking to spend on them.

While some flowers can be expensive, you can stretch your budget in many ways. A great way to go about it is to use cheaper flowers that create a big impact.

For example, use flowering branches such as magnolia, cherry blossom, and quince. They appear large and expensive, while they aren’t.

Greens can also help stretch your budget. There are as many different types of foliage, leaves, and grasses as there are flowers. So, you only need to select the ones that make the most sense to you.

These types of fresh cuts are often less expensive and, when used correctly, may provide just as much elegance, panache, and pop as flowers.

You should consult an expert who will guide you on the right greens to go for and how to expertly organize them so that they give the perfect look.

While you are at it, don't underestimate carnations. These flowers have a poor reputation but are beautiful. They come in a range of hues and are available year-round.

If you can easily find them in your area at the time of your event, take advantage of it and use them.

Select Florets That Fit Your Ballroom

You should be strategic in how you go about it so that you don’t overwhelm the room.

While you may have a color plan in mind, think about how different colors of flowers might affect the tone of your ballroom.

Don't be hesitant to mix and match colors within your arrangements. While at it, remember that contrasting hues may create a strong statement and offer a sense of surprise to your design.

As mentioned above, if you have never decorated a ballroom event before using flowers, let an experienced florist help you.

Use Blooms You Can Donate

Once the ballroom event is over, there's no reason to throw away gorgeous and fresh florets. Instead, you should plan on donating them.

Thankfully, there are many organizations that will take your flowers, break them down, and remake gift arrangements. They then take the gifts to hospitals and nursing homes.

As much as many organizations do this, it doesn’t mean you should start finding them after the conclusion of the ballroom event. You need to prepare for it. An excellent way to go about it is to contact an organization three or four weeks before the ballroom dance event.

By doing this you are sure that you will have somewhere to take the florets once the event is over.

While you are making a nice gesture, you should pay attention to other people's schedules. You should note that the organizations that are remaking the flowers are volunteering so don’t expect them to be available all the time.

Reach out to a management or volunteer leader via phone, email, or social media.

You should agree on when you will be done with your dance event, and they can pick up the florets.

Some organizations deal with specific types of flowers, which means that if you buy others, they might not be able to use them. To avoid wastage, decorate your ballroom with florets the organization can use.

Parting Shot

These are the tips you should keep a close eye on when choosing flowers for your ballroom event. For the best outcome, work with a reputable flower company that you can count on to deliver the flowers on the agreed time.

Always place your orders a couple of weeks before. This way, you are sure the blossom company will deliver the blossoms on time for your event.

When you are placing your orders, always order extra stems. This is because some types can be more finicky or delicate, and because flowers are not perfect, you may prefer some stems over others.

Remember that it's always better to have too much than not enough, so ensure you always have more stems than you need.
