Nancy Zimmerman

I’m Nancy,  the owner and lead designer of Fancy Florals By Nancy, a Fairbury, IL, florist for weddings. I felt a connection to plants and flowers even as a child as I admired my grandmother’s gardens and helped my mother tend her gardens. This connection beckoned me to cultivate my own extensive flower gardens on our family farm where my husband Wayne and I worked together and raised our family. The garden nurtured my creative spirit and stimulated a passion to learn everything I could about the floral industry. In 2012, after completing Floral Design I and II at Parkland College, I opened my wedding flower studio in Fairbury, Illinois.

The vision behind my studio is to bring garden-inspired designs using lush blooms to create unique designs in which I draw inspiration from nature and my own gardens. We focus on one wedding per weekend which enables us to develop relationships with our clients and give exceptional customer service. Growing up, my family teasingly called me “Fancy Nancy” noting my appreciation of beauty and details. Now my husband jokingly refers to himself as “Plain Wayne” and he helps with flower prep, garland making, and delivery & set-up. We enjoy working as the “Plain Wayne – Fancy Nancy” team to give our clients the wedding of their dreams!  In our free time, we enjoy spending time with our eleven grandchildren, traveling, and serving on the “grandparent team” at Casa Vida y Esperanza, Magdalena, Mexico.
