Two Faces and Floral Jewelry on the Cover of Lace Magazine

This is the story of the cover photo of Lace Magazine, Ploiesti, Romania. I own a Romanian floral art studio: Chic Fleuriste. Chic Fleuriste is specialized in creating enchanting and unique creations, like floral jewelry, designs for weddings and baptisms, and special floral arrangements.

The woman is in the picture an actress. And she is also the manager of the theatre of the town Ploiesti in Romania.

Every Woman Two Faces

It all started with the idea: how can a woman behave herself in the nowadays society? She wants to be natural, comfortable, be herself. But society has some rules, and especially if you are a public person, you have to respect the rules. So every woman has to have two faces. That is why we started with two different make-up styles, for the right side - a lot of make-up and glamour. And for the left side - natural colors. I’ve been asked to create some floral jewelry for the right side. So, for the face side, that indicates the pressure of society.    

A Piece of Statement Jewelry

First of all, I thought of her clear blue eyes and I knew from the start that the jewelry had to be with some blue flowers in it. Then I realized that it had to be a piece of statement jewelry! And it came to me: the perfect idea! The Liberty Statue from New York. The declaration and fight for liberty will always be inside a woman in every part of the world. Even if society pressures her.    

Inspiration

So the jewelry and the earring were inspired by the Liberty Statue and the form and shape went along with this. The shape of the jewelry was made of plastic sticks that were painted gold for the glamorous idea. For the head jewelry, the sticks were attached to a headband and for the earring, they were glued on an earring shape. Vegetal material used: hydrangea blue, lagurus light blue, and bleu marine thistles.
