I love the countryside. The thought that soon came to me when I first saw rose Attraction was of the old farm life. I came upon this while walking my dog through the countryside, walking past old estates, where I see several large rose bushes growing freely. That's what inspired my design 'Farm Life' with rose Attraction from Decofresh.
My Floral Education
My name is Lara Peperkamp and I am 18 years At the moment I am following the education Skilled Employee Flower, Green and Styling level 3 at Yuverta College in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. When I was asked to make a design with rose Attraction from Decofresh roses I was in second grade. I hope to pass my exam in the following year and have my level 3 diploma. After that, I would like to continue my studies at level 4. After my level 4 diploma, I am not quite sure what I want to do. Maybe start your own business or continue your studies.
In addition to this training, I did an internship at a florist in the Dutch town of Winssen. After this internship, they asked if I wanted to continue working there. And I said yes to that.
The Decofresh Roses Project
When we, the floral students of Yuverta, were told that we could participate in the roses project from Decofresh and Thursd, I thought it was a very cool assignment. You don't often get the chance to participate in such a large project to make designs of twelve different roses. I immediately wanted to get started with this and see what I could do with it.
Rose Attraction and Farm Life
I was assigned the rose Attraction. I think this is a very beautiful and interesting flower. The rose has multiple colors that run from light to dark, a subtle gradient from white to pink, and red. The colors make this rose very unique because none of these roses are exactly the same in color. Every petal is different. These colors and different petals made me think of life in the countryside and farm life. With the image I had received of these old farms, I started to see what I could do with them.
Authentic Atmosphere Combined With Rose Attraction
When I look at old farms, I see an authentic atmosphere with many shades of brown, green, and with bricks. In my project, I wanted to create that atmosphere in combination with rose Attraction. At home, I looked at what items and materials we have that match that particular style and atmosphere. I came across an old staircase. You can really see from the stairs that it is old because the paint is already very worn. There are also some holes in the stairs due to bugs that have gnawed at the stairs. Together with an old box and rusted milk cans I came a long way to create the desired ambiance.
A Waterfall of Roses
On the stairs, I made a waterfall of roses, while the shape of the stairs had to remain visible. The flower arrangement gradually narrows. I have combined the roses with natural materials that I have all taken from the forest, such as hedera, bamboo, and cow parsley. A natural effect and an appropriate object in farm life.
