John Pouw from breeder Viking Roses decided to do something really special for a lady in Floriculture, Mrs. Rebecca Kotut, owner of Karen Roses. This farm celebrates 35 years of success and Mama Kotut is very respected in the industry. Janice, her daughter convinced Mrs. Kotut to travel with her to the Netherlands, for this beautiful occasion. Rebecca thought she was traveling for business and social meetings to IFTF in the Netherlands, but was completely blown off her feet when she realized this new beautiful spray rose from breeder Viking Roses was baptized in her name: "Rosa Loves Me® Radiant Rebecca."
Thursd Was Invited to Come to the Booth of Viking Roses to Celebrate
A new rose, Rosa Loves Me® Radiant Rebecca was baptized by Rebecca Kotut, owner of Karen Roses. This was a total surprise for Rebecca. While she was listening to Andrew Wambua, managing director of Mzurrie Flowers, you could see by the look on her face she felt something was going on. Doubt and excitement were replaced by tears from happiness. What a recognition for her as a person, to have a rose baptized in her name. Mama Kotut took her glass filled with bubbles to spray it over the roses. And yes, this pink spray rose with big and open buds, now carries her name, Rebecca.
Mrs. Rebecca Kotut:
"I didn't expect something like this to happen to me ever! It moves me to tears, happy tears. I'm amazed and very grateful for my family, for Karen Roses, for Viking Roses, and for all the support I received through the years in the floricultural industry. Thank you so much to all."
