Homo Faber (Latin for 'Man the Maker') is the concept that human beings are able to control their fate and their environment as a result of the use of tools.
It was a special request and honor for me to be asked to submit my work to Homo Faber Guide, a digital platform that brings fine craftsmanship in Europe within reach.
Homo Faber Guide
The Homo Faber Guide is the signature project of the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, an international non-profit organization that celebrates and preserves masterful craftsmanship and strengthens its connection to the world of design.
Created in collaboration with members of their international network or designated ambassadors - renowned individuals within the craft, creativity, and design world - the Homo Fiber Guide features the talented artisans who exhibited in Venice at Homo Faber: Crafting a more human future and still much more, as well as workshops, manufacturers, museums and experiences.
I am so honored to have been asked to share my work with such a unique guide, that promotes artisans and designers in Europe.
My Series of Arrangements
This series of arrangements were made for a Dutch client. I used dry and hand-painted flowers, some of which I hand-painted myself. The roses are preserved and will remain beautiful forever.
I am very inspired by unusual color combinations and I like to work intuitively, combining different shapes, textures, and colors, and designing a unique piece, a one-of-a-kind floral design, expressing emotions and feelings. I am blessed with my clients who ask me to create such special work. "These arrangements spark Joy!", was the reaction of my client, and these are the sweetest words.
Inspire You to Create - Be a Homo Faber
I hope this series will inspire you to create artistic floral designs: elaborate, emotional, vibrant, and expressive, to be a Homo Faber, a man who Creates.
