Lily Nymphs Are Lilies with a Royal Origin

Magnificent lilies with an enormous number of buds and huge blossoming flowers! That’s what would come to my mind right away if someone asked me what I think about the Lily Nymph from Bredefleur, a grower known for producing magnificent blooms.

And I must admit that I fell in love with these flowers from the very first sight. The floral design project that I did with these lilies, was meant to be bold from the very beginning.

My Design With Lily Nymph

So, I used an extensional structure made of wooden sticks fixed together and a set of various vases all shaded in a deep-sea-blue. The elegant and calm shape of the lily flower blossom with the combination of white and darkish pink color allowed me to use a wide spectrum of flowers which ranged in so different shapes and colors starting from light pink fluffy chrysanthemums, orange spray buttonbushes, and euphorbias or needle-shaped leucospermums and finishing with dark closed red dahlias and spread astilbes.

For all intents and purposes, this particular type of lily has a very long and strong stem with nice leaves and many buds that gradually turn into beautiful flowers.

So, each time we have them arranged in our design we can expect an excitement of change and a long-lasting statement of a royal beauty!

Creating the Floral Composition

When I first laid eyes on these lilies, I was instantly captivated. Their vast number of buds and the promise of huge blossoming flowers filled me with enthusiasm and anticipation. I knew that I had to incorporate them into a floral design project that would be audacious and memorable.

To complement their elegant and calm shape, which combines white and darkish-pink colors, I decided to create the foundational structure using sticks fixed together to provide a strong base for the arrangement and add an element of architectural interest. The deep-sea blue colored vases that I used served to enhance the overall aesthetics as they perfectly complemented the lilies' color palette.

With the lilies as the focal point, I had the freedom to explore a wide choice of flowers in different shapes and colors. With these flowers, I wanted to create a design that showcased the lilies' beauty while also adding depth and aspect.

For me as a floral designer, one of the remarkable features of the Lily Nymph is its long and strong stems, adorned with beautiful leaves and many buds. This characteristic allows for a gradual and captivating transformation as the buds gradually open into magnificent flowers. Each time I arrange this flower in a design, I witness a recitation of nature's artistry. That’s the statement of royalty and beauty that these lilies bring to any arrangement!

Nymph's Mystical Allure and Royalty Significance

In my journey as a floral designer, I have come to appreciate the power of flowers to conjure sentiments and create unforgettable experiences. And these lilies from Bredefleur are among those that arouse these special emotions. This is a flower that symbolizes grace, elegance, and the allure of royalty.

But what really makes these lilies so special and enthralling? Well, besides their stunning appearance and fragrance, they also have a fascinating history and symbolism.

For instance, did you know that these lilies are named after the nymphs, the mythical creatures of Greek and Roman mythology? Nymphs were female spirits of nature, often associated with water, forests, mountains… and of course flowers. They were known for their beauty, grace, and charm, as well as their ability to inspire love and creativity.

According to legend, the lilies were created by the goddess Hera, the wife of Zeus, the king of the gods. Hera was jealous of Zeus’s affair with a mortal woman named Alcmene, who gave birth to a son named Heracles (or Hercules). Hera wanted to kill the baby, but Zeus tricked her into nursing him.

When Hera realized that she was feeding her husband’s illegitimate child, she pushed him away, and her milk spilled across the sky, forming the Milky Way. Some drops of her milk fell on the earth, and from them sprang the lilies! These lilies were, accordingly, considered sacred to Hera, and they symbolized purity, innocence, and motherhood.

They were also a sign of royalty, as they were often used to adorn the crowns and scepters of kings and queens. In ancient Egypt, lilies were associated with the sun god Ra, and they represented rebirth and resurrection. In China, they were a symbol of harmony and unity, as they had both male and female parts within the same flower.

Flowers Appreciated for Their Beauty and Elegance

Nowadays, lilies are still admired and appreciated for their beauty and elegance. They are a popular choice for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and practically any other special occasion. They are also a wonderful gift for expressing love, admiration, gratitude, and friendship.

As you, perhaps, know by now, I always enjoy working with lilies. In my work with Bredefleur, I have come to experience many ways that I can use these flowers in my designs. And the results are always remarkable.
