Imani Flowers unboxing time felt like I was unboxing a colored pencil box. I am so glad that I got an opportunity to work with the beautiful, and colorful summer flowers. I would like to give a big thanks to the myThursd Meetup Spot and Imani Flowers for entrusting me with this project.
After opening the box, I started drawing in my imaginary drawing book. I always come up with design ideas from my imagination. The main goal was to showcase that summer flowers are independent flowers rather than fillers, so what better way than to create an exclusive summer flower bouquet? Here we go!
Anigozanthos, Kangaroo Paw-Themed Bouquet
Kangaroo Paw Red and Orange from Imani Flowers brought an intriguing character to the show. Their graceful presence and color were ready to pop up and steal the show.
Kangaroo Paws can be added to a bouquet to create a sense of uniqueness, love, and friendship. Their presence and individuality inspired me to create designs like the hand-tied wreath bouquet for our Christmas time here in Bahrain which is quite warm. In the wreath bouquet, I used my improvised wireframe to firmly hold every single stem intact. The Limonium and Statice are also stealing the show, because with their elegant yet vintage look and feel, they transform this design into a contemporary bouquet that everyone wants in their home.
Kangaroo Paws have immense power to complement every flower in a bouquet, giving it color, character, and charm. To me, it would be like adding "A touch of gold!"
A Luxury Bouquet Made of Limonium and Gypsophila
This project inspired me to come up with ways to display the elegance and versatility of summer flowers. Because they are often regarded as filler flowers, they tend to get a limited spotlight and the focus goes to other main flowers. However, my goal is to shift your paradigm a little bit regarding these beauties that alone are more than enough. They exhibit a touch of luxury and class.
About Limonium and Baby’s Breath, these flowers symbolize success, beauty, sympathy, and remembrance. Sometimes I feel sad because these beautiful flowers are always used more as fillers than flowers.
To give them the spotlight, I tried to represent them in a way they look beautiful alone. I made a design with six different colored Limoniums and gave the shape as that of an Allium. The design inspiration comes from my winning design in the Fusion Flowers Magazine/Danziger Competition in 2024.
