In a major development for the floral industry, Jet Fresh Flower Growers has announced its partnership with VIP Roses by Sassen, making the Ecuador-based grower an authorized VIP® Rose producer and distributor for North America and the Caribbean region. This exciting collaboration brings together the unique beauty of VIP® Wax Dipped Roses and Jet Fresh’s expertise in Ecuadorian-grown roses, promising to boost the prospects of the floral industry across the region.
Maintaining the Brand’s High Standards of Quality and Innovation
The agreement was officially launched at the 2024 Expo Flor Ecuador in Quito. Jet Fresh will, accordingly, cultivate and design the VIP® Roses at its state-of-the-art VIP Lab in Cotopaxi, Ecuador, working closely with the VIP® Roses team to maintain the brand's high standards of quality and innovation.
The roses will feature the signature VIP® wax-dipping process and unique toppings, offering florists and consumers a range of exquisitely designed blooms. On the occasion, a delighted Juanita Coloma, the Director of Jet Fresh Flower Growers said that the new development will boost the grower’s goal of producing flowers as creatively as possible.
Juanita Coloma:
“Our Jet Fresh VIP® roses are not just roses; they are artful gifts, designed to elevate any occasion or arrangement. When Jet Fresh Flower Growers was founded in 2016, the goal was to grow flowers as creatively as possible—offering vibrant colors, art, and endless options. After years of collaboration with VIP® Roses, this vision has expanded.”
Bringing This Popular Collection and Unique Toppings to Customers
Juanita expressed Jet Fresh Flower Grower’s excitement at the new collaboration, which will offer the renowned VIP® brand unique artistry and formulas. VIP® Roses for North America and the Caribbean will now be cultivated and designed at the VIP Lab in Cotopaxi, Ecuador, at Jet Fresh Flower Growers, S.A. which is located 2,896 meters above sea level, and whose exceptional flowers allow it to supply a wider inventory of quality Ecuadorian roses worldwide.
The grower’s boutique rose farm located in the South American country produces more than 60 different varieties of roses, as well as color-enhanced designs. And with the close collaboration from the VIP team, Jet Fresh Flowers will, now, exclusively bring the popular VIP® Roses collection and unique toppings to its customers.
Michael Black, the President of Jet Fresh Flowers guaranteed that the grower will continue upholding its widely acknowledged high standards of quality and innovation in its floral offerings, even during the course of the collaboration.
Michael Black:
“It is an honor to represent VIP® Roses on this side of the world. The Sassen Family are true floral scientists, and we will continue to uphold the highest standards of quality and innovation in our offerings. For more than 60 years, VIP® Roses has upheld a family legacy of creativity, quality, and service. Now, these world-renowned roses are available through Jet Fresh Flower Growers.”
Roses That Are Far From Your Typical Varieties
A family-owned flower company, brothers Marc and Ed Sassen transformed what once used to be their father’s rose greenhouse into VIP Roses, a globally recognized name in roses now, 35 years later. In the 3.5 hectares of greenhouses, the Sassen brothers produce different magnificent roses. These roses are however far from typical. Their passion for the beauty of a rose has led them to source out some of the most stunning varieties.
VIP Roses offers an equally breathtaking, but entirely different line of flowers than their homegrown garden-style rose. These are the tinted collection. Incidentally, the flower company stumbled upon the idea of manipulating flowers, which led to thorough research into the world of painting flowers.
Demands for flowery pizzazz and glamor led to many new varieties. These cool flowers have, accordingly, taken the world of floristry to a new level, as Marc says, “It doesn’t bother me that not everyone is smitten by our topped and tinted flowers, they simply aren’t for everyone. But I know that these flowers have delivered countless smiles, and that’s what it’s all about. They aren’t to be taken seriously, but rather to have fun with!”
Unlike many other growers keen to harvest their roses so that they can quickly yield the next one, VIP Roses allows each rose the time to fully develop in the ground. The Sassen brothers determine the optimal moment for each variety to be harvested.
VIP Roses:
“We are looking for the most beautiful rose shape, meaning our roses are ready to be used and enjoyed. Just as a tomato tastes better when it has ripened on the vine, a rose blooms more beautifully on the bush than it will in a vase. We don’t settle for beautiful, we are satisfied once a rose has reached its full capacity – stunning.”
100% of VIP Roses’ production occurs between April and November, meaning the flower company offers a truly seasonal product. By shifting the focus to tinted flowers and choosing not to grow during the coldest months, the flower company significantly reduces its energy usage. This results in a small ecological footprint.
For Marc, when asked what defines VIP Roses, his simple answer is: “It is our name. We aren’t your run-of-the-mill greenhouse offering a standard variety of roses. We are always evolving. We never stop our search for the next gem; whether it be in our greenhouse or our paint lab. We offer a Very Impressive Product – stunning, mind-blowing roses.”
Choco Toppings That Entice!
VIP Roses are unique, and that is without a doubt. Varieties of the roses integrate toppings which makes them even more exceptional. Choco toppings are an example. Roses with the toppings are as desirable to look at just as they are irresistible to smell! These fantastic and fun roses have a tantalizingly sweet chocolate vanilla smell. But they are not edible. As tempting as they may be to take a bite, you can even taste them. The rose buds are dipped in paraffin wax. They are then further decorated with disco dip pearls or hearts.
The vase life of these chocolate roses is just the same as untreated roses. Once the rose has seen its vase life through, the flower head can be cut from the stem. The bloom will remain pretty for an additional two to six weeks. Dark colors last even longer. The extensive life of the head makes them a perfect choice to use in extra-special flower boxes!
With the new partnership between Jet Fresh Flower Growers and VIP Roses, the former now becomes the regional go-to destination for customers seeking the world-renowned VIP® Roses in North America and the Caribbean. Moreover, the flower grower is, also, poised to expand its reach and further solidify its position as a premier provider of exceptional floral products.
