Shallima's Impact on the Floral Community

Shallima's partnership with Thursd aims to amplify the visibility of Latam floral businesses and foster a global appreciation for the industry. Her work not only highlights the beauty of floral designs but also celebrates the people and stories behind the flowers. This collaboration is expected to bring a surge of inspiring content and significant initiatives that benefit the entire floral community.

Shallima's Background

Shallima originates from Colombia's Caribbean front, raised in a family where cooking was always present. After finishing high school, she moved to Barranquilla, where she attended a private culinary school. Subsequently, she worked for a renowned culinary company that catered to many high-level events. Witnessing the floral design at these elegant events, she gradually realized that she had a hidden passion for floral art. While juggling the world of gastronomic services and catering, she found her way into the world of flowers by founding her own company with a good friend. Over time, they expanded, forming an alliance with a larger floral company, which after several years became her own business, and consequently, changed its name to Lottas Floral Studio as her interest in flower design kept growing to higher levels. The flowers she was able to procure locally did not fulfill her expectations.

She followed her instinct and sought to broaden her horizons in the floral industry by attending private courses locally and in Europe. Good friends familiar with the floral industry opened some doors for her in Bogotá, where she spent many weeks with international breeders understanding their main purpose. There she discovered a world unseen. Over time, she realized that Garden Roses had become her new love and was fortunate to meet the owners of the most important growers of these beautiful roses.

She expanded her knowledge about roses and eventually became the only floral designer certified in Colombia by the renowned company Alexandra Farms. This entire process, along with her sensitivity and passion, has given her the tools and respect of many in the industry to promote their varieties and hire her design services for very important events, as well as in the wedding and celebration industry. She is recognized for being amongst the few who handles exclusivity and flowers of the highest quality in her designs and work.”
