Recently, I have discovered some of the most wonderful flowers: Alstroemerias by grower Tesselaar Alstroemeria. This is my story of how I learned about the unique charms of three particular varieties. I will show you how these flowers can go from just a filler to the focal point of your next design.
Alstroemerias Are More Than Bouquet Fillers
When it comes to flowers, Alstroemeria has always had a special place in my designs. But recently, I found something truly different in three alstro varieties: Bubblicious, Estee, and Morado. Working with these unique flowers has opened up fresh ideas and new creative directions for me.

First things first, huge thanks to Thursd.com and Tesselaar Alstroemeria for giving me this amazing opportunity. Working with these Alstroemerias wasn't just about filling bouquets—it was about celebrating each variety's personality, beauty, and versatility in the world of floral design.
Alstroemeria Bubblicious
Let's start with Bubblicious. Imagine petals awash with shades of pink, from soft pastel tones to richer, deeper hues. This variety has such depth of color that every bloom looks like a miniature masterpiece. My goal was to highlight this beauty in two very distinct arrangements: an elegant bouquet and a modern, luxurious design in a golden pot.

Bubblicious worked perfectly in both scenarios, enhancing the elegance of the bouquet and adding a sophisticated twist to the contemporary pot arrangement.

Alstroemeria Estee
Next up is Estee, a variety I quickly fell in love with due to its unique coloring—a delightful salmon shade combined with a warm yellow heart. Estee is robust, versatile, and wonderfully long-lasting, making it ideal for florists who need cut flowers that can handle a variety of settings.

I chose to showcase Estee's charm in two contrasting designs: a wild, natural arrangement in a marble stand, which let Estee's colors dance freely, and a classic, sophisticated bouquet in a sleek black vase, highlighting the flower's innate elegance.

Alstroemeria Morado
Last but certainly not least, Morado captured my attention with its graceful, rich purple hues. Purple Alstroemeria is often underappreciated, seen as complementary rather than a standout flower. But Morado changed my perspective entirely.
I designed a monochromatic bouquet with Morado, letting this variety shine completely on its own. The result was striking—the depth and beauty of the purple tones stood out vividly, making it impossible to see this flower as just another filler.

Witnessing Nature's Creativity
Throughout my time working with these Alstroemerias, one of the most rewarding aspects was observing them closely from bud to full bloom. Each day brought new insights into their transformation. It's a beautiful process that reminded me of why I became a floral designer in the first place—the opportunity to witness nature's creativity firsthand.
One thing that really struck me while working with these alstros was their exceptional quality. The freshness and durability were outstanding, making these flowers not only stunning but practical for everyday arrangements and special occasions alike. It's clear that these flowers are cultivated with great care and precision, which is exactly what every florist looks for.
As floral designers, we often search for that special flower that can offer versatility and distinction at the same time. Bubblicious, Estee, and Morado meet these criteria effortlessly. They're not only visually striking but adaptable enough to fit into different styles and themes. Whether you're creating a chic wedding bouquet, a modern floral installation, or a rustic centerpiece, these varieties have something valuable to offer.

A Strong Visual Presence
Another exciting aspect was experimenting with pairing these Alstroemerias with other flowers. Due to their strong visual presence, they blend effortlessly with both subtle and bold companions. Imagine Bubblicious mixed with gentle white Lisianthus, Estee accented by soft Eucalyptus, or Morado alongside dark green foliage—each combination brings something fresh and inspiring.
In my floral journey, each new flower variety brings renewed excitement and fresh ideas. Alstroemerias have certainly done that and more. They challenged me creatively and showed me the immense potential that lies in rethinking traditional flowers. It’s exciting to imagine how these flowers will inspire other designers around the world.
To florists looking for that spark of inspiration or a flower that effortlessly combines beauty and practicality, I wholeheartedly recommend giving Tesselaar Alstroemeria a try. Trust me, these flowers will not only elevate your designs but also enhance your entire creative experience.
Thanks again, Thursd.com and Tesselaar, for this fantastic collaboration. I'm looking forward to seeing how florists around the globe showcase these incredible Alstroemeria varieties. Happy designing!
