Talk about flowers decorating the interiors of renowned shops. This trend is becoming bigger and stronger as time passes. BoND, a New York-based studio, designed a feminine, organic interior for Brazilian brand PatBo's Miami Design District store, which includes a dramatic sweeping staircase and giant floral shapes and touches to add a bit of extravaganza. Check out how flowers are making a statement in shops around the world.

PatBo's Miami Store Features Sculptural Displays

BoND designed the two-story retail space following their work on the PatBo headquarters in Manhattan, which opened last year. In the Miami flagship, the team used a similarly soft, feminine palette, pairing white and pale pink with rich woods and brass accents. The new store is an artful and site-specific reinterpretation of the feminine, organic aesthetic that is synonymous with the brand's stores in Brazil.

Customers enter through a dramatic arched canopy and find themselves in a tall, bright space with terrazzo flooring, geometric wooden display plinths, and brass rails while looking at hanging silk floral installations by Hana Form in different parts of the rooms. Whether it be near the clothes displays or hanging from staircases and ceilings, the flowers have added value to the overall spaces by creating more texture and interest for all visitors.

Used as a central design element, these silk flowers bring an artistic and natural touch to the luxurious retail space while also creating a delicate, pastel-toned atmosphere that complements the brand's resort-inspired clothing line. These florals were strategically placed throughout the store to enhance the visual appeal and provide a sense of tranquility and connection to nature. The use of silk florals also ensures durability and low maintenance, making them an ideal choice for a high-traffic retail environment.

More About the Design and Floral Touches

Green marble can be found in custom furniture pieces, as well as stair treads and risers concealed behind a solid, ribbon-like guardrail. An arched opening beside the register leads into a bright, coral-colored changing area, where terracotta tiles cover the floor. The staircase glides up the curved back wall of the store and rises through a gap in the upper floor plate, around which the balustrade circles back on itself.

According to the studio, the space's focal point is a winding white and green marble staircase that connects visitors to the second-floor salon and dressing area. Curved wood panels and caramel-colored carpet provide a more intimate atmosphere upstairs, which is accentuated by the lower ceiling height. Customers can relax while shopping in a seating area made up of Frank Gehry's Wiggle chair, a green marble coffee table, and a curved grey sofa.

A pair of oversized silk flowers by artist Hana Form hang overhead, and they are also suspended through the staircase void on the ground floor. BoND also designed a facade of pale pink wooden slats to help the building stand out in Miami's Design District, where brands are encouraged to be creative with their facades.
