Senetti® Is a Plant Unlike Any Other
The Senetti® is a specific brand with certain characteristics that makes it outstanding, within the Pericallis family, also known as Pericallis x Hybrida. Native to the Canary Islands, Pericallis is a hybrid of two species, Senecio and Cineraria. This plant has large daisy-like flowers in shades of blue, pink, purple, and white, with a beautiful yellow center. It thrives in full sunlight and moderate temperatures, making it a great addition to any garden or indoor space.
What makes the Senetti® outstanding is the fact that these plants are bred by MNP / Suntory, a famous high-quality breeder,
Senetti® originates from the skilled breeders at Suntory Flowers in Japan. Senetti is a captivating array of Pericallis hybrids that are the result of expert crossbreeding between members of the Compositae and Asteraceae families. Although previously classified as a cineraria hybrid, Senetti® is quite different from seed-grown cineraria typically found in households.
Because until recently all material was raised from seed, they were known for being winter and spring flowering plants. Now the genus Senecio has been re-classified into Pericallis in recent years, the Senetti® is the first to come from vegetative cuttings, making it available almost the entire year and you can also use it as an indoor plant! Just put it in a place permeable to light, at room temperature and it will flourish.
The Senetti® is a Striking Plant With Striking Large Daisly-like Flowers
Senetti®'s striking, large daisy-like flowers emerge rapidly with a single plant in a 10-inch pot boasting up to 200 blooms. What's more, Senetti® possesses a unique ability to rebloom. Simply trim the plants back by half, and a new wave of blooms will make their appearance. However, when placed outside during the summer when nighttime temperatures rise above 30 degrees Celcius, Senetti®'s flowering tends to pause. Being an originally early spring plant, Senetti® prefers temperatures below that.
These plants are simply spectacular. Not only can they endure chillier temperatures as low as 2 degrees C but they also infuse vibrant hues into the landscape just when it's most needed. Whether it's the dazzling blues, mesmerizing magentas, ultraviolets, or eye-catching bicolors, Senetti® is your go-to for an early burst of color.
For an irresistible spring display, pair Senetti® with other cool-loving bedding plants like pansies. These plants are super versatile, thriving in both full sun and partial sun conditions. With Senetti, spring never looked so colorful! The Senetti® is an annual plant, which means that it grows and blooms for one season.
