Laguna is a remarkable family business where passion and innovation take center stage. What began in the Westland tomato cultivation has transformed into a unique mission: bringing tropical elegance into European living rooms. Under the leadership of the three brothers, Ron, Frank, and Michel De Bakker, along with brother-in-law Chris Kester, Laguna has grown into a specialist in cultivating the Medinilla.
Laguna is fully dedicated to cultivating, breeding, and innovating this exotic houseplant. The entire process – from propagation to innovation – is managed in-house, in collaboration with an external specialist. The result? Medinillas of exceptional quality.
Medinilla
Laguna’s range consists of three varieties. The Medinilla Magnifica is the classic beauty, while the self-developed Lambada and Flamenco bring an innovative twist to this tropical plant.
The Medinilla is a rare and striking houseplant native to the tropics. Its unique appearance makes it a true eye-catcher in any European home. It blooms for up to three months, featuring elegant, cascading flower clusters – a hallmark that sets it apart from other plants.
In addition to the classic pastel pink variety, Laguna is continuously working on new colors, such as red and purple, to make the collection even more versatile.
