As I made my way to Imani Flowers, located in Eldama Ravine, Nakuru County, in Kenya's Rift Valley region. I had no idea the impact this visit would have on me. But what truly stood out was the story behind Imani, a farm that embodies the principle of faith and innovation in growing hardy summer flowers.

The warmth of the morning sun promised beauty and resilience, qualities that mirrored the spirit of the farm. Through the open outdoor fields, I got to appreciate the diversity of each flower. The kangaroo paws (Anigozanthos), the Limonium, and the Gypsophila are all in different shades. Read on to find out Imani Flowers’ best-selling varieties and get a chance to learn about their new and intriguing venture.

Experience Kangaroo Paws Grown for You

Imani Flowers prides itself in growing and producing an exceptional quality of kangaroo paws. Their consistent supply of A1 quality to the clock is a testament enough. From red, and orange to yellow; their kangaroo paws will captivate you and infuse character into any floral arrangement.

Wendy Makena, their marketing manager reiterates that:

"Every flower here is grown with you in mind with each stem reflecting the care and intention that goes into our work."

With Breast Cancer Awareness Month fast approaching, I couldn’t help but be drawn to the Oshi pink, a Limonium variety. Their gentle beauty, combined with a resilient nature, felt like an expressive tribute to the strength and grace of those touched by this important cause. Oshi Pink is among their varieties that are performing exceptionally well, it’s a great filler variety bringing a unique touch and color to every bouquet.

Summer Flower Bouquet Is the Trend

Summer flowers are known or rather cultivated in the past mainly as fillers but what about an independent summer flower bouquet? Interesting right? This is exactly what Imani Flowers are doing with their beautiful and quality flowers. Carefully crafted and arranged, every bouquet is an expression, an emphasis to their commitment that indeed these summers are grown with you in mind and for you.

Each bouquet is a rich mix and blend of summer flowers, combined to create something both elegant and as Wendy described it:

"This is a not-your-usual bouquet, but it’s an expression, a choice to be different, to open yourself to a new taste, and a way to experience the possibilities that exist with our summer flowers."

Resilience, Faith, and Passion

Established in 2012, Imani, which means "Faith" in Swahili is a demonstration of resilience, beauty, and growth. The farm’s promise to offer quality flowers is evident in how they cultivate their flowers. Thanks to the favorable climatic conditions in Nakuru, many of their flowers are grown outdoors. This natural, open-air environment ensures that the flowers are not only beautiful but also of the highest quality, naturally regulated and nurtured by the environment.

As I stood in the fields for the first time, I truly appreciated the rich world of summer flowers. They were no longer just fillers waiting to join a larger arrangement; they stood proudly on their own, independently! Each stem is a masterpiece in its own right. And as I left the farm, I carried with me not just a bouquet, but a renewed sense of amazement for the beauty and resilience that summer flowers can express, on their own!
