For people who know or follow me a bit, it is no surprise that I get excited about flowers pretty easily. I have been with my head in the flowers for my whole life, so I consider myself a flower adept. And when I see something beautiful I feel the urge to share it with you.

If there’s one initiative I’m excited to talk about, it’s Coloured by Gerbera. This platform is putting the spotlight on one of the most iconic flowers in the industry: the Gerbera. For florists, wholesalers, and even the end consumer, it offers something more than just flowers—they deliver inspiration, knowledge, and an incredible range of Gerbera varieties to pick your favorite color, size, and shape. And that's quite a challenge!

Coloured by Gerbera

Coloured by Gerbera connects growers, wholesalers, and florists by providing not only stunning flowers but also a hub for creativity and education. Through their platform, they provide insights into trends, practical tips, and even fun projects for florists. Their approach is to promote Gerberas as versatile, modern, and suited for every floral occasion. From weddings to everyday arrangements, Coloured by Gerbera shows how these blooms can elevate any design.

It’s a brilliant initiative that champions local growers while offering florists an endless palette of possibilities.

Coloured by Gerbera Campaigning in Delft

#Gerberamoment

I was tagging along with the promotion campaign to promote 66 varieties of the new Gerbera assortment. This makes the total of varieties cultivated by the connected growers a staggering 518 varieties! So, there's always a #gerberamoment for every occasion.

So, I traveled to the Dutch city of Delft (nothing to do with my last name 😉), where they gave Gerberas away for free to people on the street. Imagine the cheerful faces when people were given a bunch of these colorful beauties. We should never forget that flowers can make the day, especially when they are as colorful as Gerberas. They always bring a smile to the faces of young and old.

On our Gerbera gifting trail we ended up at one of Delft's top florists 'Hemelse Bloemen Delft' ('Heavenly Flowers Delft'). The love for flowers is evident as soon as you enter Hemelse Bloemen Delft. Here, we handed out some bunches of more exclusive varieties.

The Beauty and Diversity of Gerbera Flowers

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show—the Gerbera itself. Gerberas are known for their bold, cheerful faces and bright colors, making them a favorite among florists and consumers alike. But did you know they come in an array of hues and forms that go way beyond the classic daisy shape?

With varieties that include single, double, and mini Gerberas, there’s no shortage of creativity when working with these flowers. They range from soft pastel tones to striking neon shades, making them perfect for any mood or theme. Whether you're crafting a sleek modern bouquet or a rustic wildflower arrangement, Gerberas offer the kind of flexibility florists dream of.

Their vase life is another huge plus. Gerberas can easily last a week or more, making them both a durable and beautiful choice for any arrangement. Plus, they’ve got that special ability to light up a room. The wide diversity in shapes, colors, and sizes means they can easily be the focal point of an arrangement or a supporting bloom that ties everything together.

Gerberas in Floral Design

One thing that’s undeniable about Gerberas is their versatility in floral design. Whether you're going for a minimalist, clean look or something more avant-garde, Gerberas have the power to transform an arrangement. Florists are drawn to these flowers because they add a pop of color without overwhelming the design. They pair beautifully with other blooms like roses, lilies, and even tropical foliage.

In wedding florals, Gerberas often steal the show. Their wide color spectrum makes them perfect for matching wedding palettes, and their sturdy stems make them easy to work with in bouquets and centerpieces. But don’t just save them for big events—Gerberas can also elevate everyday designs. From a simple vase on the dining table to an eye-catching shop display, Gerberas bring a touch of joy wherever they’re placed.

So, hats off to Coloured by Gerbera for giving this stunning flower the stage it deserves and for giving this traction with the #gerberamoment campaign. Whether you're a florist or simply someone who loves fresh blooms, the possibilities with Gerberas are endless!
