In a celebration of creativity and floral artistry, floral designer Anna Loshakova was crowned the winner of Bredefleur’s inaugural BFF of the Year Contest 2025. The announcement took place on Tuesday, November 4th, at the Bredefleur stand during the Trade Fair Aalsmeer, marking quite a significant milestone in the field of lily-focused floral design.
The Unanimous Choice of the Judging Panel
Levi Evers, the Sales and Marketing Director at Bredefleur, and also one of the well-regarded jury members, revealed Anna as the unanimous choice of the judging panel. His fellow jurors, renowned floral artist and European champion Hanneke Frankema, and Peter van Delft, a leading floral influencer and content creator, were equally impressed by the winning entry.
As Hanneke explained then:
“Anna Loshakova's creations look absolutely stunning and are truly innovative. She dares to take risks. The complete picture, including makeup, photography, model, and the techniques used, creates a beautiful and unique atmosphere."
Bredefleur's BFF Contest Concept
The BFF of the Year Contest 2025 makes for a bold new chapter for Bredefleur and its community of Bredefleur Friends (BFFs). Over recent years, more than 40 BFFs from more than 13 countries have shown their creativity with Bredefleur lilies, building an inspiring collection of lily creations.
This inaugural competition challenged these talented florists to push their creativity even further. They were invited to create striking lily arrangements that showcased their personal style and creativity without limitations. The only requirement was that the lily had to take center stage in the design.
From this creative community, 15 BFFs rose to the challenge, submitting entries that showcased the great versatility and beauty of lilies in contemporary floral design. Anna’s design consequently emerged as the winning one.
Anna’s Winning Idea
In her statement, Anna described the process behind her winning entry. Faced with the entire Bredefleur lily palette, she chose white lilies, specifically Lily Zambesi and Lily Bowl of Beauty, describing them as ‘lilies in their purest essence, symbols of serenity, purity, and regal grace.’
Anna:
“Almost immediately, the concept of the design and the model's image took shape: a woman becoming part of a sculptural composition where flowers, light, and form merge into a single breathing structure.”

Her design was envisioned as a sculptural meditation, merging human form and floral geometry into one living composition. Having worked with lilies previously, she described the lily as a symbol of inner equilibrium in her work–fragile yet enduring, radiant yet restrained.
Anna’s creation became what she calls ‘a meditation between body, flower, and silence, a moment of suspended consciousness,’ with the cool glow and tender softness of each petal creating an ethereal final image.
Her Victory Comes With Recognition and Opportunities
Anna’s victory comes with substantial recognition and opportunities. She receives a €500 cash prize and an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to Bredefleur's facilities, including a greenhouse tour, with accommodation and travel expenses covered.
Perhaps more valuable for her career, the Russian florist will feature prominently on Bredefleur's exhibition walls throughout 2026 at the Trade Fair and all other international trade shows. Her work will also be included in Bredefleur's 2026 product catalog, providing an exceptional platform to showcase her talent and establish her name on the international stage.

Recognition for All Participants
While Anna claimed the top prize, Bredefleur expressed their appreciation for all 15 participants who brought the lily into the spotlight through their unique creative ideas. In 2026, all 15 contestants, including Anja Keller, Anna Loshakova, Anu Peri, Regine Motmans, Cindy Gunther, Claudia Delli Rocioli, Gaétan Jacquet, Ioana Nechifor, Jacqui Owen, Josefien Goethals, Karin Pasman, Kazi Hafijor Rahman, Kristina Rimiene, Marios Vallianos, and Max Hurtaud, get recognition on Bredefleur's online platforms.

With numerous accolades to her name, Hanneke is renowned for her bold color combinations and avant-garde techniques. Her floral creations move florists at trade shows, demonstrations, and exhibitions globally.
Peter van Delft, on the other hand, has over 20 years of experience in jurying. Having grown from a trader and buyer to a global content creator, Peter produces films, blogs, and interviews for Thursd.com, highlighting growers and breeders from the Netherlands, Kenya, Colombia, and other regions. His work emphasizes the beauty of cut flowers, plants, and new varieties.
