When it comes to roses, few names carry the same weight and prestige as Porta Nova Red Naomi Roses. Known as the 'Queen among Roses', this variety has an unmistakable density of petals, a refined structure, and a fragrance unlike any other. In water, it reveals itself gradually—each day unfolding with even more grace, charm, and strength.

For Teacher’s Day, a celebration of gratitude and respect, I was honored to create three floral works dedicated to this occasion through myThursd Meetup Spot in collaboration with Porta Nova. Roses have always been a meaningful gift for teachers, embodying admiration, appreciation, and timeless beauty. While working in my flower shop, Blumenschneebeli in Affoltern am Albis in Switzerland, with Porta Nova roses at the heart of my designs, I sought to create arrangements that are not only aesthetically striking but also practical for florists to recreate in their shops.

Bouquet for a Teacher

The first creation is a commercial bouquet designed with presentation in mind. Porta Nova roses hold the central role, supported by Daucus carota and meadow grasses that bring movement and lightness. The deep tone of the rose is emphasized by blackberry and carnation, which enrich both texture and form.

A multi-layered placement ensures flow and dynamism, while the bouquet remains airy and transparent. It is a piece that any florist can translate into their own shop work—a heartfelt way to honor teachers with flowers.

Minimalist Composition With Polygonum

For the second design, I pursued a minimalist concept. Porta Nova Red Naomi Roses are set within a flexible polygonum frame, allowing the velvety richness of the blooms to contrast beautifully with warm, earthy tones. Green Dianthus barbatus provides clarity and brightness, complementing the overall look. The compact scale makes this piece both elegant and practical, a thoughtful gesture for Teacher’s Day that carries simplicity and strength.

Eco-Bouquet with Hay Frame

The third design leans into sustainability. Porta Nova roses are grouped on a hay frame, shaped like an inverted trapezoid. The rustic texture of hay creates a natural wrapping, highlighting the refined form of the roses. This unconventional pairing speaks to balance: raw, organic material alongside the precision and magnetism of Porta Nova. The eco-friendly design leaves a lasting impression—unique, memorable, and deeply symbolic of appreciation for teachers who shape lives with resilience and care.

Honoring Teachers With Porta Nova Roses

These three floral interpretations carry a shared message: gratitude expressed through roses of unmatched quality. Porta Nova Red Naomi Roses elevates even the simplest gesture into something extraordinary. For Teacher’s Day, they stand not just as flowers, but as a universal symbol of respect, admiration, and the beauty of shared knowledge.

I am grateful to Porta Nova and Thursd for the opportunity to bring this vision to life and to show how roses can speak directly to the heart of this important celebration.
