Trends, much like the ever-changing hues of nature, hold a universal essence while allowing for personal interpretations. In floristry, where creativity knows no bounds, trends become how floral artists can paint their unique expressions. The EMC Trend Report 2024 takes a comprehensive and out-of-the-box approach, delving into the complexity of information to offer floral designers a unique perspective on the trends and how they can be used to increase the added value of their works.

Trends serve as a guiding light, directing your attention not just towards your design process but also helping you make informed decisions about what to purchase and gaining insights into your clients' preferences and desires.

Tomas:

"In EMC we always work with four trends, addressing the four different typologies that are innately human and that transcend floristry. Natural, modern, avant-garde, and classic are the main traits that each trend follows, changing each year in color palettes, textures, shapes and forms, and even behaviors that later influence decisions. Every year, one trend tends to have a more broad spread across all arts that are influenced by or influencing trends."

What Makes a Trend Special?

Celestial Ardor, the dominant trend for 2024, emerges as a celebration of new beginnings and a daring exploration of space, both physical and mental. The trend's color palette is a vibrant blend of warm and bold hues, mirroring the quasi-surreal colors of a summer sunset.

Within Celestial Ardor, there is an inherent optimism, inviting positivity and action. However, much like the dual nature of the sun, the trend acknowledges the challenges, weaving a narrative that reflects both the beauty and the potential adversities.

Embodying a positive, welcoming, and spiritual aura, the Celestial Ardor trend encapsulates an exquisite play of light and shadow, inviting florists into a realm where sensibility meets innovation.

This modern trend, curated in the EMC Trend Report 2024, is not just a palette of colors; it's a narrative woven with dynamic lines, curves, and shapes reminiscent of celestial paths and orbits. The keyword 'light & shadow' takes center stage, as the interplay of these elements creates striking patterns mirroring the celestial dance of luminance and obscurity. With an emphasis on transparency, containers become a canvas for the celestial palette to shine through, enhancing reflections that elevate designs into otherworldly spectacles.  The textures associated with Celestial Ardor, including shiny and bright surfaces, luxurious metallic accents, and intricate silk fabrics, form a harmonious symphony that transforms spaces into ethereal landscapes. Gold brown emerges as a frontrunner in the color palette, symbolizing warmth and sophistication, while the refined grey violet adds a touch of edginess, pushing the boundaries of conventional floral design. As floral designers explore this trend, they embark on a journey where tradition meets the avant-garde, and the classic seamlessly blends with the modern, offering a transformative experience that transcends the boundaries of time and space.

More Colors - More Power to Guide Your Clients

Using color as part of a harmonious color palette is the way trends allow you to delve into an infinite array of possibilities, without having the feeling of always doing the same thing.

The color palette of Celestial Ardor, dominated by bold and strong tones, is simultaneously warm and inviting. The inclusion of a refined grey-violet adds an edgy touch, translating the sun's essence into a visual symphony. Gold brown emerges as a frontrunner, a recurring theme that ties together various combinations, creating a harmonious flow.

Understanding color and trends shapes diverse palettes for a wide audience. In this edition of the Trend Report, the original trend palettes are skillfully reimagined in a comprehensive article for pastel preferences, maintaining the trend essence. Secondary palettes subtly incorporate primary hues, harmonizing tradition with dynamism in floral design. Fine-tuned proportions create versatile palettes, adapting to trends and broad clientele. Interestingly enough, the Pantone Color of the Year in 2024 - Peach Fuzz - can be found in the subtle color palette of the Celestial Ardor Trend. The Trend Report not only dives into the four different trends of this year but offers a curated selection of articles, including a comprehensive analysis of the applicabilities of clear and subtle color palettes within the same trend.

There’s More to Texture Than Meets the Eye…

In Celestial Ardor, textures play a pivotal role in transforming spaces into ethereal landscapes and creating luminous landscapes. Shiny and bright textures, reminiscent of radiant stars, take center stage, with colored mirrors and glossy surfaces creating a world that shimmers with elegance.

Celestial Ardor embraces luxurious metallic surfaces like brushed brass, reflecting the splendor of celestial bodies. Intricate silk fabrics mimic the graceful movement of planets and stars, while translucent glass and glossy surfaces glisten like celestial orbs, infusing designs with an otherworldly glow.

The trend thrives on the interplay of light and shadow, creating patterns that resonate with the celestial dance of luminance and obscurity. Transparency, a constant element, adds an ethereal touch, capturing the captivating essence of the cosmos. Containers play a crucial role in Celestial Ardor, featuring transparency to allow light to shine through and enhance reflections of the trend's color palette.
