The Story of Abdulaziz Alnoman - One of Saudi's Most Recognized Florists
In a recent interview, Abdulaziz was asked about his life, his inspiring story, and how he chose this career that not only brings him wonderful and pleasant floral experiences but has also allowed him to meet many people along the way who share the same passion. One thing is certain, his love for flowers is incessant and his day-to-day is based on creating and designing flowers to make people happy in his floral business and boutique shop called 'Aziz'.
About his story, he shared:
"My story is quite long, but I’ll try to summarize it as much as possible. It all started when I graduated from high school at the age of 18 and enrolled in an engineering college. I always had a desire to start a business but didn't know what it would be. Many ideas crossed my mind, but the idea of opening a flower shop kept coming back, even though I didn’t know why. I knew nothing about flowers—not even basic names like rose or carnation. I was completely blind to the world of flowers."
"One day, a friend introduced me to a beautiful flower shop in Jeddah. I visited the shop, and the moment I saw their flower fridge, it felt like I was looking at paradise. That experience sparked something in me, and I decided to train with them part-time, without any financial compensation. I was keen on observing every detail behind the scenes. Eventually, a friend asked me to make a bouquet for him. I decided to take on the challenge and made it in my home bathroom. It was quite an adventure, but after hearing the feedback from people, I realized that this was the beginning of my journey."
The 'Why' Behind His Floral Story
Abdulaziz shares how he found and felt what is a deep connection to the world of flowers and weddings, which resonated strongly with his personality. Although he faced criticism for leaving engineering college, he remained steadfast in what would be his future path. He is a person who loves change and despises routine. This is why the ever-changing nature of flowers, designs, setups, and weddings felt very close to who he was and is nowadays. Abdulaziz's 'why' allowed him to fully submerge in the world of design, as he has a constantly evolving personality that always seeks more.
On these lines about his floral career, we asked him what was a defining moment that skyrocketed his career, to which Abdulaziz said:
"From 2003 to 2009, I explored this field without any profits or full professional commitment, but with a great deal of dedication. It was a phase of discovery, to the extent that in 2009, I spent an entire year at home, unable to do anything in this field because I felt lost from all the learning and experimenting while trying to shape my style. However, my inner voice kept urging me to continue.
By the end of that challenging year, my personality started to take shape more clearly. Over the next two months, I decided to pray and ask God to guide my path. At the end of those two months, I established my brand, 'Abdulaziz Alnoman'. Although I had previously started other brands, those were mere experiments. When I launched my brand, I decided to work exclusively with luxurious flowers. This was the beginning of defining my unique direction, style, and target clientele."
The Sources of Inspiration of Abdulaziz's Floral Designs
It was as simple as asking Abdulaziz who inspires his designs and he expressed:
"I believe inspiration can come from anywhere. Any true artist senses the things around them. I am an artist who is deeply moved and inspired by everything around me. Sometimes inspiration comes from nature, fashion, or even a piece of fabric—it can come from anything in your surroundings.
Additionally, I'd like to share that besides finding inspiration in different areas and surroundings, my favorite part of floral design is the process of selecting, coordinating, and combining materials, whether it’s textures or colors. It’s about how to assemble these elements and ensure they all harmonize. Most importantly, it’s about being satisfied with the quality of the materials used."
His Relentless Love for Flowers and Why They Are Good for People and the World
To finalize the interview, Abdulaziz Alnoman has such a never-ending love for flowers that every design he creates could easily become his favorite. All of them are favorites and there's no flower he loves more than another.
He says:
"I have many favorite designs, but my preference is when I use luxury flowers, artistic high-quality materials, and create an elegant setup."
With flowers, creating a setting, event, or wedding with these characteristics is of course, always possible. Being surrounded by flowers and plants daily keeps him running and feeling alive, for which he expresses the importance of flowers to the world and the well-being of people.
"This can only be understood by those who truly appreciate and value beauty and nature. I've realized that beauty items like flowers, chocolates, and similar products bring happiness and appreciation, obtaining them is a desire for everyone."
