Little Sister Creative, a floral design studio based in NYC founded and owned by Julie Guinta operates with a different kind of vision—one grounded in thoughtful, intentional work and over-the-top displays, without being overly exaggerating. Her creations have the perfect amount of balance and they are utter perfection. Although there is an entire team behind every floral design, Julie is the center of attention this week as she is part of the florist special.

Julie Guinta - The Head at the Back of Little Sister Creative NY

Meet the Founder and Creative Director behind Little Sister Creative, a fun, beautifully thought floral company that delivers prime floral work and designs. Julie's career began in fashion, as the U.S. press manager for premium designer Yohji Yamamoto. After this, she earned a Masters Degree in Contemporary Art from Sotheby's Institute of Art, which allowed her to later become the publicity manager for the London-based auction firm Bonham's, where she oversaw more than sixty auctions per year across twenty-five departments.

Eight years ago though, Julie decided to leave the world of press and explore the world of event design. She built a robust freelance career working with some of the leading event design companies in New York City. Bombastically she landed at 'Rye Workshop' where she headed up the company’s wedding design division. While there her designs were featured in Vogue, The Knot, Martha Stewart Magazine, Bride’s, and several others.

Guinta founded LSC in 2019 intending to create beautiful events for couples to celebrate their love while having fun. She is originally from Houston, Texas, and currently resides in Brooklyn with her husband, Geoff, and their goofy affenpinscher Smalls.

She shares about herself and her work:

"My goal is to create immersive, inclusive, and gorgeous environments for all people to celebrate their unique love — either that be with 200 people beneath clouds made of florals, or just two Sweet Hearts exchanging sweet words. We value quality and high-end design. I am here to question and disrupt an industry steeped in tradition, so let’s prioritize what our hearts want instead of following the norm. We operate with integrity and produce next-level creative for our couples, so their big (or small) day, reflects them and their love."

1. Floral Design

Florals are your entry point: bud vases to ceiling installations, you are flower-forward! Julia and her team will center their design conversation around the clients' floral color palette, design, aesthetic (garden, modern, minimal, sculptural, etc), and needed floral-focused design elements. Basically, LSC offers custom floral designs that are thoughtfully designed and worked to fit the uniqueness of each event.

2. Event Styling

Beyond flowers, they offer full-scale event styling. This involves curating every element of the event’s aesthetic, from selecting linens, tableware, and lighting to coordinating furniture and decor. Each aspect is designed to work in harmony with the venue and theme, ensuring that the overall experience feels cohesive and deeply personal.

3. Custom Installations

Little Sister Creative specializes in transforming spaces with custom floral installations because from big to small moments, the client at the end of the day wants to tell a special story through customized details. They are tailored to the event, ranging from ceiling-hung displays to floral walls, arches, and other floral experiences. Their approach connects and matches the client's vision with innovative design, turning any location into a visually stunning, one-of-a-kind environment.

4. Curated Rentals

To complement the event’s design, Little Sister Creative also provides curated rentals, offering a selection of handpicked decor items. These might include vintage tableware, bespoke linens, and other unique pieces that add a layer of refinement and charm to the event, ensuring every detail feels thoughtfully considered.

Or you might want them all! Julie has one thing in mind: making people's lives and events more uplifting through the use of flowers. Every floral designer has a style, and as you may have already seen, hers is versatile, while mixing, matching, and combining different shapes, textures, and color shades. Some of her works may also seem more delicate and girly while others might be greener and more dramatic. She can do anything and everything!

Little Sister Creative does not have pre-determined wedding design packages because they believe that each wedding design requires a unique approach. You can view their guide to wedding design costs and budget minimums for reference on LSC's website but how the budget is deployed will be tailored to your vision.
