Michael Putnam
His 'anarchic elegance', as his style has been described, along with his extraordinary sense of color, which he has shared with thousands of readers through his books Flower Color Guide, Flowers: The Color Theory, and Rainbows in Bloom, translated into multiple languages, has made him a leading figure in contemporary floral design. Victoria Clausen Floral Events
For Victoria Clausen Floral Events, flowers are only the beginning. It’s never just about pretty arrangements or how much is spent on them – it’s about transforming a space into a once-in-a-lifetime experience that reflects each client's story. It’s not about linens, candles, or escort displays in isolation. She aims to create an environment where every detail contributes to the design and overall idea. And it’s never about outside opinions of what a celebration 'should' be.
Victoria shares:
“My goal is truly to understand the client, so when people walk in the room, they totally see the client through everything we've done. I would say my favorite thing about teaching is really that moment where people just, you know, you can see the sparkle in their eye, and you know, oh my gosh, I can do it. I never thought I had that in me. I'm seeing people with the same set of flowers, the same ingredients, and when you walk through the room, you can see completely different designs. I would say that's my favorite side of teaching. I learn as much as I teach. That to me is the biggest gift of teaching."
Lilo Klinkenberg of Studio Lilo
Lilo Klinkenberg is a Berlin-born and based floral artist and designer. Her work ranges from small to large-scale botanical installations and sculptures. This year, she had her first solo exhibition in Berlin, showing six sculptures, playing with the real and unreal. Owner of Studio Lilo, which she founded in 2018, she works internationally for clients such as Flos, Cartier, Loewe, Jil Sander, and Google. She studied fashion design at Universität der Künste in Berlin. Today her work includes floral design for fairs, fashion shows, film and photography productions, events, and exhibitions.
She wants students of Madrid Blooms 2026 to take the following from the experience:
"I think to learn that you can use natural material like using other materials, to not be afraid of using it differently, to use it how a sculptor would use clay, or like a fashion designer would use fabric. To see it as a structure and to see the color as a whole, more than just seeing the single flower. And also to see that you can go over borders with flowers and plants and natural materials, you can try out different things with them; they do not have to go into a bouquet. And these borders go into other art forms, to actually see floral design as a form of art as well."
Paulina Nieliwocki of Blue Jasmine Floral
After many years as a high school language teacher and translator, Paulina Nieliwocki realized she was seeking a new adventure that would challenge her while still nourishing her creative spirit. Having been deeply influenced by flowers as a child—picking wild blooms for her grandmother—embarking on a career in floral design felt like a natural path.
In 2014, she left teaching and founded Blue Jasmine, naming the business after her grandmother’s favorite flower. Her vision was to provide and teach a floral aesthetic that embodied her idea of beauty: wild, whimsical, artful, and refined.
The company specializes in high-end custom floral design for weddings and events, but also offers floral workshops and subscription services for both businesses and private clients. Blue Jasmine's aesthetic is defined by its appreciation for texture, color, and the unique shapes of individual stems, often incorporating dainty accents and trailing vines. In 2026, she'll be part of the incredible floral design repertoire. You cannot miss out!
