When Sarah Campbell and her Intrigue team pulled into the New Jersey countryside for the New York/New Jersey stop of the Intrigue Across America Tour 2026, they were greeted by a foot of snow, not quite the sunshine and open roads one would, perhaps, expect. But that hardly dimmed their momentum and that of the community.
The snow-blanketed grounds of Crossed Keys Estate, as she describes it, felt much like a winter fairytale: refined, full of light, and romantic. And the two days that followed (despite the blizzard) presented a room full of creatives ready to boldly build, collaborate, and turn challenging conditions into memorable design moments.
A Tour Built on More Than Beautiful Flowers
To really comprehend the Intrigue Team’s New York/New Jersey edition, it benefits to understand what the Intrigue Across America Tour really is. Now in its eleventh year, the tour is a travelling floral education program led by Sarah Campbell of Intrigue Designs, a Maryland-based studio widely respected in the wedding and event floral world.
“A little” snow set the perfect scene for our winter workshop with @StyledShootsAcrossAmerica and @Intrigue_Designs. Talented florists, photographers, and wedding professionals from across the East Coast braved the blizzard to prove that creativity outshines any forecast.

Each stop combines a business education workshop with a hands-on floral installation masterclass, and the events are truly collaborative by design. Attendees do not simply watch, but they also take part and build designs. The 2026 tour has already taken the Intrigue team through Phoenix and on to New York/New Jersey, Los Angeles, and Dallas, with more cities on the horizon.
Each stop is hosted at a chosen venue and is supported by a community of creative partners, from photographers and planners to wholesalers and linen suppliers, resulting in what one may call a workshop, styled shoot, and professional development conference all rolled into one. It draws floral designers at every stage of their careers.

Day 1: Selling Luxury in a Snowstorm (And an Uncertain Economy)
The original plan for Day 1 of the New York/New Jersey stop was disrupted almost immediately. With snow falling heavily just earlier and travel conditions deteriorating across the region, Sarah made the decision to move the business workshop online.
Sarah:
“[But] what could have slowed us down instead sharpened our focus. A handful of attendees staying at our hotel joined us in a conference room, while others tuned in virtually, and together we packed powerful conversation into a concentrated three-hour session.”
Over three focused hours, Sarah led a session on selling luxury in an uncertain economy. The topics featured intentional growth, pricing with clarity, how to position oneself with confidence when clients are hesitant, and how to stay visible and strategic when the market feels unpredictable.
Sarah:
“The shortened format didn’t dilute the impact; it intensified it. We covered intentional growth, positioning, pricing with clarity, and how to lead with confidence when the market feels unstable. If anything, the storm outside underscored the message inside: adaptability is a luxury skill, and resilience is part of leadership.

Without a doubt, the weather outside offered a very literal cue to what the session was addressing: professionals who thrive are the ones who adapt without losing their direction. After the session wrapped, some attendees ventured outside for a snowball fight and built a snowman, which, as the Intrigue team noted with some amusement, was a first in eleven years of touring.
The New York/New Jersey stop was also notably regional in its attendance, drawing largely from the surrounding creative community, which gave the business discussions a local texture and specificity that made them particularly useful for attendees.

Day 2: Luxury Floral Centerpiece and Installation Masterclass
Day 2 began with extended hours to compensate for the weather pivot the previous day, and the team moved straight into business. They embarked on what many attendees had been waiting for: the hands-on floral design work.
The centerpiece of the morning was an architectural X-shaped tablescape, a design that challenged students to think outside of the familiar conventions of linear floral arrangement. They had to consider angles, balance, and how guests would experience the design from every direction.

Sarah:
"Each attendee was responsible for creating a section of the install, focusing on repetition, mechanics, and intentional movement. Once every piece was complete, we brought them together, assembling individual efforts into one cohesive, show-stopping statement. It was a powerful reminder that large-scale impact is built one thoughtful component at a time.”
From the tablescape, the group moved into ceremony scale. The feature installation was a double-arch structure designed to evoke the feeling of a winter fairytale, which, given the actual weather outside, required very little imagination.

The apprentices worked side by side, focused on creating what the team describes as baby's breath ‘snakes,’ layered textural foundations that gave the arches their signature soft, cloud-like fullness.
White Gerberas were added throughout, bringing a gentle aspect and personality to the overall design. A semi-arch framed the beginning of the aisle, and a second, larger arch anchored the ceremony's focal point, creating a tiered visual experience that worked from every angle in the room.

The ceremony installation did not stay inside. In what the Intrigue team confirmed was the first time in the tour's eleven-year history that a ceremony installation had been carried out into the snow, the finished arches were moved outdoors for documentation. The downy white florals against the white winter landscape created a scene that felt entirely of a piece with its surroundings.
Sarah:
“The fluffy, romantic texture of the florals against the snowy backdrop outside made the entire installation feel seamless with the landscape, as if the storm itself had inspired the design.”
The Concerted Framework That Made It Work
A delightful aspect of the Intrigue Across America Tour is its ecosystem of partners. At the New York/New Jersey stop, for instance, flowers were supplied by Jetfresh Flowers with support from RosaFlora Ltd. Floral recipes, counts, and pricing were built using Details Flowers software. Supplies and hard goods came from Oasis Floral Products, and linens were provided by Nuage Designs.
After Day Two wrapped, the Styled Shoots Across America photography team arrived to document the finished florals and installations with the assistance of professional models. Heather Benge handled planning, Crossed Keys Designs were the floral co-host, and contributions came from Love Is Art Designs (stationery and signage), Petal Dust Cakery, Mobile Beauty Society, Justina Alexander (wedding gowns), Friar Tux (menswear), and additional creative partners.
Later, attendees of the workshops got full access to the professional photo galleries once they were completed, meaning that the work produced during the two days remains part of each participant's professional portfolio.
How Crossed Keys Estate Earned Its Place as the Ideal Venue
The choice of Crossed Keys Estate in the New Jersey countryside as the host venue was well-suited to the event's ambitions. The property combines modern elegance with estate warmth, offering soaring windows, strong architectural lines, and an intimacy that easily inspires intimate creative work.

So for a workshop focused on architectural floral design and layered ceremony installs, the venue's own geometry proved effective, even for the final results.
