About Hanneke Frankema
With numerous prizes to her name, recently winning the National Dutch Championship of floristry 2018 and a wealth of international experience, Hanneke Frankema is a highly sought-after guest arranger, regularly travelling around the world to perform demonstrations, teach, and inspire.
Since Hanneke Frankema was awarded the title of ‘Master Florist’ – at the time the youngest florist ever to do so – her floral life has been a rollercoaster of activity. She regularly flies to Beijing, Moscow, the US, and Europe to give masterclasses and demonstrations. Hanneke’s distinctive work has won many national and international awards, including winning the Dutch National Championship of floristry 2018 and the Barcelona World Flower Cup 2012. All these achievements naturally earned her a place as a jury member in two seasons of the popular Dutch TV show ‘The Netherlands’ Best Flower Stylist’.
Hanneke often works together with her life partner and professional photographer Nico Alsemgeest. This tandem is very efficient and unburdening for customers - companies, trade journals, magazines. Moreover, Hanneke and Nico bring out the best in each other, perfectionist and driven as they are both.
Thanks to her rich experience in creating special flower arrangements – be that for trade fairs, shows, schools, colleagues, or private customers – Hanneke is able to bring her own, very personal creations to life, characterized by her use of colour, avant-garde techniques, and unfailing eye for detail.
