Recently, Alexandra Farms hosted the second annual Garden Rose Experience, a very special event created by floral designer and educator Holly Heider Chapple that brings together florists, designers, and avid flower lovers from around the world to connect with the beauty and essence of garden roses. Over three days, attendees once again witnessed the dedication, passion, and attentiveness that makes this Colombian farm a recognized benchmark in the floral industry.
Days of Learning, Inspiration, and Creativity
The event began with visits to both of Alexandra Farms’ production estates, where we, as a group, toured the greenhouses, observed the high standards of their processes, and became first-hand participants in the critical selection of new select varieties. These visits not only show the impeccable quality of their garden roses, which are also some of the most praised and loved worldwide, but also underline the detailed and extremely careful work and vision implemented behind each flower and its process.
The third day of this wonderful get-together reigned through with a vast celebration of communal creativity which resulted in a collaborative floral experience of outdoor design where the participants work together to create a lovely floral installation full of life and grace. Each rose selected revealed its astonishing fragrance and portrayed its own story. The final result was a communal reflection of the shared passion felt amongst all those present.
Joey Azout - The Heart of Alexandra Farms
It is impossible to speak of Alexandra Farms without bringing attention to their renowned president and leader, Mr. Joey Azout. Personally, aside from his talented leadership, he is a highly admired and beloved friend in the industry. His knowledge, passion, and innovative vision have positioned them in the high spheres of excellence and recognition in the production of garden roses globally.
But beyond his expertise, what truly sets Joey apart is his warm demeanor. His charisma, his love for flowers, and his ability to inspire those around him are a reminder that success is not just measured by results but by the positive impact we leave on people and the community.
A Tribute to Collaboration and Companionship in the Floral Industry
The event this week highlighted and featured Holly Heider Chapple, a recognized American floral designer and long-time close friend of Alexandra Farms. Her critical, passionate, and loving approach to floral design was felt throughout, commencing with her great interpretations and discussions about rose varieties and lasting throughout until the moment of her creative workshop. Her connection with the Colombian farm reflects the warm collaborative spirit that defines them. All in all, the experience, networking, and flower love were greatly felt and there's nothing more beautiful than interaction to get to know new people and at the same time learn the most important aspects of flower farms.
For me, this experience was not just an opportunity to connect, but a present-day reminder of why I love this world of flowers so much. Alexandra Farms doesn’t just grow the most beautiful roses, but for me, they nurture a community built on excellence, creativity, and a deep love for what we all do.
Thank you, Joey, and thank you to the entire team for opening your doors and your hearts once again. The Garden Rose Experience expressed and portrayed in full the passion, effort, and beauty that flourishes in every contributor.
