My journey with Bredefleur has been an absolute delight. As a florist with over thirty years of experience, lilies have always held a special place in my heart. These magnificent blooms have been a cornerstone of my success, gracing countless designs and captivating clients for decades.
Lilies in British Culture
In British culture, lilies hold a profound significance. They are often seen as symbols of remembrance, playing a poignant role in funeral tributes.
However, their allure extends far beyond somber occasions. I've consistently found that many of my clients gravitate towards the simple elegance of a solitary lily, its bold presence demanding attention in any space. This speaks volumes about their unique appeal – few flowers possess the power to command a room quite like a single, perfectly placed lily.
The sheer variety of lilies is astonishing, offering a spectrum of colors and scents to suit every taste. From the luxurious red of the Asiatic lily to the delicate pastels of Oriental lilies, there truly is a lily for everyone. And let's not forget that intoxicating fragrance! The scent of a blooming lily can fill a home with a captivating aroma, evoking cherished memories and creating a truly enchanting atmosphere.
Collaboration With Bredefleur
For this recent collaboration with Bredefleur, I was fortunate to work with three exquisite varieties: the captivating Dutch Design lily with its sumptuous double petals, the fragrant beauty of a pink Oriental Lily Albufeira, and the elegant allure of the red Original Love lily.
I was immediately drawn to the deep, passionate red of the Asiatic lilies. To showcase their dramatic beauty, I created a striking centerpiece using a sturdy red cane structure mounted on a wooden base. This allowed the lilies to take center stage, their strong stems emphasizing their bold presence. Two exquisite Delft vases, a nod to the Netherlands and its rich floral heritage, completed the design.

But my lily adventure didn't stop there. I also created a dramatic two meter tall structure to showcase the versatility of all three varieties. This allowed each lily to shine individually, creating a breathtaking display that truly celebrated the unique beauty of each bloom.
This collaboration with Bredefleur has been a truly inspiring experience. It has reaffirmed my deep appreciation for these magnificent flowers and the endless possibilities they offer for creative floral design.
