My second World of Spray Roses farm visit this year took me to Isinya Roses, a beautiful flower farm in Kajiado County, Kenya. This family-owned farm is part of the Isinya Group of Companies and has been growing top-quality roses since 2001. With over 2,000 employees, it has become one of Africa’s leading flower exporters, enjoying a legacy of commitment to quality and innovation.
Here are some amazing highlights from the visit, including some of the top spray rose varieties dominating the market from this grower. Read on!
Exceptional Quality of Spray Roses Grown by Isinya Roses
As I walked through the greenhouses, with Mr. Shankar, I saw how much care and expertise go into growing these flowers. From controlling temperature and watering to carefully picking each stem at the right cut stage, the farm ensures that their spray roses are strong, fresh, and long-lasting; perfect for bouquets and floral designs.

I had a great chat with the Sales and Marketing Manager, Mr. Anantha Kumar, who shared five of their most popular spray rose varieties from Interplant Roses and World of Spray Roses:
"Our best-selling varieties from Interplant Roses are the spray roses Fireworks, Dinara, Reflex, Snowflakes, and Odilia; these are moving fast in the market. Also, we have new introductions like Spray Rose Sancerre and Melanie which are picking up quickly."

I especially loved Sancerre, seeing it for the first time at Isinya Flowers! Just like the fine French wine it’s named after, this spray rose starts as a soft cream-apricot and opens into deeper, richer tones, giving it a warm and elegant look. It’s perfect for weddings, special occasions, or anyone who loves classic floral arrangements.

Diversity as a Strategy
Beyond flowers, Isinya Roses also grows other crops, including high-value fruits like dragon fruit and blueberries. Their expansion into fruit farming shows their keenness for agriculture and sustainability, making the most of Kenya’s fertile lands.

Besides Isinya Roses, the farm also owns Porini Flowers in Molo, Nakuru county, which is the highest farm in Kenya at 2,865 meters above sea level. Here, they grow extra premium roses with longer stems and bigger heads, reaffirming their commitment to quality.
World of Spray Roses, Isinya Roses Edition
Spray roses are special because each stem has multiple blooms, making them great for full and textured floral designs. My visit to Isinya Roses reminded me why Kenya remains the top flower producer in the world. Isinya Roses, just like other Kenyan members of the World of Spray Roses umbrella, enjoys this initiative to strategically promote and position the magic of spray roses.

Anantha Kumar had this to say:
“We have a range of varieties that suit all market segments, ensuring that every customer finds the perfect spray roses for their needs. Our flowers are grown under Fair Trade certification, reflecting our commitment to ethical and sustainable farming. As a proud member of the World of Spray Roses umbrella, we are truly impressed by the initiative’s efforts to promote, create awareness, and position Spray Roses as a key player in the global floral industry. Through this collaboration, we continue to showcase the beauty, versatility, and unmatched quality of our spray roses to the world.”

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, with pink and purple varieties taking center stage, I can’t help but admire how spray roses embody softness and elegance—the perfect flowers to honor the women in our lives. Whether arranged on their own or paired with fillers, spray roses make a thoughtful and timeless gift.
Here’s a bouquet I recently made using Interplant’s spray roses and some filler flowers for International Women’s Day!
I can’t wait to share more as I continue my World of Spray Roses journey!
