Everything to Know About Liza Langen and Her Flower Business
Liza Langen Studio's contemporary arrangements are inspired by creativity, consciousness, personal touch, and seasonal metamorphosis. They add to life's special moments and honor the practice of being present. With a studio, a new sun-filled storefront in the south of Stockholm, and a growing local community with a heart full of flowers, Liza Langen Flower Studio is devoted to using nature and what it provides on day-to-day to brighten each day a little bit more with nothing more and nothing less than flowers.
In September 2024, the team is opening a new studio in Södermalm. A sun-filled space the studio will share with a specialty coffee shop, Balue. It is now transforming into a space to unwind, explore, learn, and connect.
Elizaveta Langen - Based in Stockholm, Available Worldwide
Elizaveta Langen, the studio's Founder and Creative Director, started her floristry career by making simple seasonal arrangements for her home as a way to reconnect with her family living abroad and the garden she grew up in. She founded the studio in 2016, focusing solely on seasonal flowers and sustainable design techniques.
She shares with the world:
"My practice of arranging flowers started with a ritual of selecting flowers for my home. In the early stages, I found inspiration for an arrangement by thinking back to the flowers I was familiar with from my grandparents' garden. I would look closely, pinpoint one unique detail in each flower, and then try to showcase that in the arrangement.
Whether it was a curvy stem or a singular petal of a different color, interesting textures, or the size of a flower, minor details became my starting point for the whole composition. Taking a moment to remember how flowers grew in our garden guided me in choosing how and where to place them in the arrangement. Even today, observing nature and its ways is a tool I often use to guide my creativity when designing with flowers."
Additionally, with seasonality and sustainability in mind, as part of their services, the team also assists businesses in adding a unique element to their brand through the language of flowers. They provide floral design for events, photoshoot styling, creative workshops, installations, delivery subscriptions for retail and office spaces, and premium gifting. No design is ever repeated, and every flower recipe is carefully curated. At Liza Langen Flowers they only use sustainable design techniques, avoiding harmful floral foam and chemicals, to bring you the best in premium seasonal flowers.
Elizaveta Langen Gives Tips on How to Care For Your Fresh Flowers Once You Receive Them
As the great floral designer and florist she is, Elizaveta prepares you for when your flowers arrive. Providing flower care tips directly on her website is a way of demonstrating her deep love for making every client happy with the flowers they choose and of course, her passion for floral design and why we all must take care of flowers as they are beautiful living beings. All in all, she likes to say that flowers are good, flowers make us happy, and because of that, we must retribute them and take care of them adequately. Here are her best tips:
- Prepare the vase as a first step! Select a vase appropriate for the shape and height of the bouquet. Clean the inside of the vase with soap and brush. Fill in with cool (not ice-cold) water.
- Carefully remove all paper packaging and ribbons (if you received a bouquet). The team behind Liza Langen Flowers recommends unwrapping in a sink to avoid water spillage, as all of the bouquets arrive with a water source.
- Give a fresh cut! Cut all stems 45 degrees for about 2-3 cm and quickly place them in water to avoid the formation of air bubbles in the stems. Make sure no leaves or flowers end up in the water to avoid the build-up of bacteria.
- Avoid placing cut flowers close to heat sources, fruits, and direct sunlight.
- Change the water and clean the vase every other day. Give the flowers a fresh cut before placing them back in the water. All flowers have different life spans, remove the ones that wither faster to let the rest stay fresh longer.
Now that you have a basic idea of how to treat your flowers with attentiveness and uttermost care, it's time to give Liza Langen's Instagram account a scroll.
