IPM Essen remains a defining moment in the calendar for Floritec. More than a showcase, the fair functions as a strategic meeting point where long-term relationships are strengthened, and new conversations take shape across the global ornamental sector.
“For Floritec, IPM Essen is first and foremost a key meeting point with our international network,” says Daphne Hoogeveen, Marketing and Communication Manager at Floritec. “Our objective is to deepen existing relationships with growers, exporters, and retail partners, while creating space for new dialogue that helps shape the next steps in our breeding work.”
A Clear Focus on Plant Families
At the heart of Floritec's presence is its belief in plant families. Rather than focusing on individual introductions in isolation, the company continues to build strong, recognisable series that support uniformity, reliability, and market relevance. This approach is reflected clearly in the way Floritec presents itself at IPM Essen.
Visitors to stand 2D18 can expect a focused and calm presentation, designed to encourage conversation rather than volume. The emphasis lies on explaining why varieties were bred, how they perform under specific growing conditions, and how they function within a wider assortment. Floritec’s team is present throughout the show to discuss both technical and market-driven considerations, offering growers context alongside visuals.
Highlights at the Floritec's Stand
This year’s highlights underline Floritec’s commitment to colour, character, and series thinking. Within the pot plant segment, attention is drawn to the Colour Crush Collection, featuring striking bi-colored varieties, and the Special Crush Collection with distinctive Anemone flowered types. These sit alongside well-established series such as the pot Chrysanthemum Dynamic, pot Celosia Twisted and Intenz, and pot Asters Astella and Starletta.
In cut flowers, the successful Santini series Miller remains a cornerstone, while the recently introduced Fabiani series takes a more prominent position, supported by new and promising novelties.
“What makes our new introductions stand out is not just how they look,” Daphne explains. “They are bred with a clear focus on series thinking. Growers can cultivate multiple colours or types under the same conditions, which supports efficient production and predictable results.”
Breeding Direction and Customised Development
Looking ahead, Floritec continues to invest strongly in family development and customised breeding. Collaboration with customers across regions plays a central role, allowing varieties to be aligned with local climates, cultivation methods, and market expectations. Robustness and reliability remain key priorities, including resistance and tolerance where possible.
Floritec also places strong emphasis on building recognisable plant families that support efficient and predictable production, helping growers manage risk while meeting market demand.
Why IPM Essen Matters to Floritec
IPM Essen serves as a strategic anchor point within Floritec’s wider business goals. The conversations held during the fair directly influence breeding priorities, product positioning, and communication throughout the season.
“IPM is where we validate market direction and set priorities for the year ahead,” says Daphne. “It is not a standalone event. What we learn here feeds straight back into our programmes.”
What's Next?
As 2026 unfolds, Floritec will continue refining and expanding its assortment across pot and cut Chrysanthemums, pot Celosia, and pot Asters. New introductions, trial outcomes, and targeted launches will follow throughout the year, all guided by the same principle. Delivering strong families that perform in practice and add long-term value for the market.
At IPM Essen, Floritec invites visitors to look beyond individual varieties and engage with the thinking behind them.
