Three Varieties in the Spotlight

Three standout varieties were highlighted at the event—Alstroemeria Sicilia, Libya, and Purple Rain. These new varieties, set to begin larger-scale production soon, impressed visitors with promising traits seen in smaller trials. Here’s a bit more about each of these three.

Alstroemeria Sicilia

Sicilia features a soft lavender-pink color and a large flower size, combined with an excellent vase life. It also benefits from its hybrid background, offering virus resistance, good production rates, and strong stem and flower quality. This variety’s good performance in warmer climates was well-received at the show.

Alstroemeria Libya

Libya turned heads with its unique, vibrant color, large flower size, and strong stem quality. Many visitors were drawn to its display vase at the show. As a hybrid type, Libya shows good resistance to viruses, strong heat tolerance, and high production potential, making it an appealing option for growers.

Alstroemeria Purple Rain

With a lovely lavender color and nicely shaped flowers, Purple Rain was another highlight. It features a high flower count and has no leaves at the top, giving it a clean look. As a butterfly type, it’s easy to grow, even in warmer areas, and is known for reliable production and strong stem quality.
