Studio Patrick Nadeau, founded in 1999 in Paris, creates projects inspired by plants that combine interior architecture, object design, and scenography. Architecture, interior design, and plants have a way of being best friends and companions to create the dreamiest combinations of planty spaces, some in which plants play such a powerful visual role, some you would never imagine.

The Fascinating Life of Patrick Nadeau - The Creator of Some of the Most Amazing Plant Designs

With a double degree in architecture and design, Patrick Nadeau is one person to be admired for what he does and brings to the architecture and interior decorating world (with plants, of course). Following a stay at the Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto in the 2000s, he pursued his natural interest in 'the things of nature' and created a design approach he dubbed 'Plant Design'.

The plant studies he conducted as a teacher-researcher at the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design de Reims influenced the ideas he produced with his studio later on. With Sara Lubtchansky at his side, he combined botany, design, and human sciences and invited figures such as Francis Hallé, Bruno Latour, and Patrick Blanc to the school.

Many of his early creations, such as Rainforest, La Maison-vague, and Nature individuelle, have become iconic in the field of plant design.

A Studio With Projects That Respond to Their Surroundings

Nowadays, Patrick is developing this distinct vision in France and around the world in sectors ranging from interior architecture to urban design, object design, scenography, and in situ artistic installation. Looking back, he believes that the study of plants was what initially made him aware of the concept of environment. For him, any endeavor, whether related to living things or not (and aren't architecture and design, by definition, always related to living things?), is inextricably linked to its context. Each of his efforts aims to improve the users' quality of life.

Studio Patrick Nadeau has developed expertise, tools, and a network of partners in the field of life sciences and botany, enabling it to guarantee the sustainability of its creations while respecting environmental constraints. It is capable of carrying out design and technical development studies, monitoring the manufacturing and installation of installations on-site.

Several large-scale projects completed in collaboration with architects, landscapers, and decorators in France and around the world have given him a solid understanding of complex undertakings. Furthermore, partnerships formed with subcontractors that specialize in garden upkeep protect the plants and relieve consumers from any restraints.

The studio's innovative approach, combined with mastery of all types of limits, enables him to present his clients with unique and technologically advanced replies.
