Guests traveled from London and the south to Lincolnshire, accommodated at local hotels such as the Boston West and The Leagate Inn. They were transported by a local bus company to the stunning National Trust venue Tattershall Castle and later to The Leagate Inn for the celebration.

Central to the wedding’s eco-friendly theme were the floral arrangements created by Evolve Flowers Ltd. Specializing in sustainable sourcing, Evolve Flowers curated designs featuring 85% British-grown flowers. Helen Chambers, the creative force behind the floral concepts, ensured that all plants and most flowers and foliage were locally grown in Lincolnshire.

To honor the groom's international heritage, a few exotic stems of Strelitzia, Heliconia, Gloriosa, and Kahala roses were imported from sustainable farther flung growers. All the designs were plastic-free and created so that guests could take them home to enjoy as mementos of the day.

Use of Locally Grown Flowers

Helen hired Kate from Folds Under Pressure to create paper flowers that resembled 'Birds of Paradise' Strelitzia, to give the décor a distinctive touch. By utilizing these locally made components, Tattershall Castle was able to lessen its reliance on imported flowers while showing the plants' inherent beauty. In keeping with Karen and Sean's sustainable wedding vision, the use of locally grown flowers and handcrafted décor not only reduced waste but also benefited local businesses.

The flower arrangements demonstrated the couple's dedication to sustainability. The moss in Evolve's trees was obtained sustainably from vendors recognized by the Forestry Commission, and no single-use plastics were utilized. In addition, the paper blossoms contributed to the interactive photo booth by offering guests a beautiful and environmentally responsible backdrop against which to take pictures. The wedding exemplified how a celebration of love can also be a celebration of the environment by emphasizing eco-friendly practices and minimizing waste. Even their rings were made of recycled skateboards, using Canadian maple wood.
