Valentine Growers is a family-owned rose grower based in the rolling hills of Limuru, Kenya. The farm covers 500 hectares, with 18 hectares dedicated to producing around 27 million stems annually, focusing on intermediate and premium roses. The company works closely with professional breeders to evaluate and grow varieties that match both market needs and the realities of the farm.
The Full Process
From propagation to post-harvest, Valentine Growers keeps the full process close to home. The farm grafts and propagates plants in its own nursery, grows roses in covered greenhouses on soil and hydroponic systems, and uses centralized fertigation, cold storage, grading halls, and daily shipping to keep quality and freshness steady.
Alongside production, the company places clear attention on people and the environment, with CSR programs covering medical care, housing, transport, training, water management, and Fairtrade-funded community projects. In 2020, Valentine Growers was recognized at the International Fairtrade Awards as 'Hired Labour Organisation of the Year'.
