In November 2021 during the IFTF exhibition in the Netherlands, I spotted a white rose with 'red lips' at the Meilland International booth, a very interesting shape and color combination. The rose name is Dance de Meilland Meivhienna. Receiving this rose this week, I felt inspired to create a very trendy bouquet in the same color pallet, and tell you a bit about how I came to love Meilland roses.
I Love With French Garden Roses
15 years ago, I fell in love with an almost black rose called Black Baccara for its beauty without knowing anything about the world that I would many years later discover. Fast forward, I am now an ambassador of French garden roses, becoming the first florist in the world to have a garden rose with my name: Rose Alina Perfumella.
This was the moment when all my attention and curiosity focused on Meilland International. I would soon discover that I always liked their products without knowing that the roses I hold so dear were created in one of the most beautiful places on earth - the French Côte d'Azur.
Meilland Has Written History
I believe that Meilland International has already written history in the world of rose breeders. Their story begins before World War I, the family's first rosarian was gardener, Joseph Rambaux, who first started breeding roses in 1850 in Lyon, France. The 'Peace' rose brought the family international attention and great commercial success when it was introduced after World War II. We’re looking at 172 years of rose breeding, these people know what they’re doing!
Nowadays, the sixth generation of the Meilland family keeps creating beautiful, strong, and disease-resistant roses available for garden lovers or farms that grow roses for the cut flower industry.

A Trendy Bouquet With Rose Dance de Meilland
Receiving Dance de Meilland roses this week, I felt inspired to create a very trendy bouquet in the same color pallet. Ranunculus, phalaenopsis orchid, cherry flowers, and beautifully preserved fern helped me create a delicious bouquet that would impress the person who will receive it.
I will close this article with a powerful quote by Anne Brontë hoping that you’ll feel inspired: "But he who dares not grasp the thorn should never crave the rose."
Yours, Superflower Blondie!
