In March of the year 2026, De Ruiter Colombia held a new edition of its Open House in the savanna of Bogotá, a space designed to enable rose growers to get to know firsthand the portfolio of the breeder’s varieties.
During the event, De Ruiter exhibited varieties focused on the mass market, standing out for their productivity, plant health, and efficiency in the processes involved, as well as varieties developed for specialized markets, where aesthetics, differentiation, and added value become more relevant.
Presentation of New Varieties Positioning Themselves
One of the main attractions of the Open House was the presentation of new varieties that are beginning to take their place within the De Ruiter Colombia portfolio. Among the highlighted launches were Rose Pink Darling, Rose Orangiata, Rose Happy Mood, Rose Arctic White, Rose Sweet Beat, Rose Pink Punk, Rose Dragonfly, Rose Dragonfly Gold, Rose Attraction Bubbles, and Rose Fantasy Bubbles.
The event brought together the most representative companies of the rose industry in Colombia, who arrived with a clear objective: to evaluate, compare, and decide which varieties can best adapt to their productive and commercial strategies.

A Collective Evaluation Process
Behind each tour, there was a collective evaluation process in which multidisciplinary teams participated, contributing in their respective areas: agronomic, commercial, and supply chain. In the showcase, the varieties were displayed in a way that allows the comparison of the physiological development of the different genetic materials.
As growers walked around the greenhouses, they observed how each variety behaves from its initial formation, the vigor in growth, and the structure of the plant. Generally, this type of observation allows the identification of details that are normally not perceived when the flower is only seen in a vase or in a traditional display.
The Satisfaction of Interacting With Representatives of the Rose Industry
During the three days of their Open House 2026, the atmosphere reflected what this type of event represents: reunion with the breeder’s clients, strengthening of relationships, technical conversations, field analysis, and the satisfaction of interacting with representatives of the rose industry.

De Ruiter continues to support the Colombian growers strongly, despite the very complex situation that the flower industry is experiencing.
