Every year, the International Floriculture Trade Fair (IFTF) gathers the floral world to see what’s next. For breeders, growers, and floral designers, it’s the place to explore color, performance, and innovation. This year, De Ruiter Innovations presents a strong selection of roses that unite bright colors, solid growing traits, and inspiration for the design world.

What Does De Ruiter Have to Show From East Africa? Strength and Style

From Kenya comes a brand-new red rose called Rose Revolution. It joins a lineup that includes many varieties. A few of the always remarkable roses that are going strong: Mandala, Pomarosa, Anne-Laure, Frutteto, and Ever Red. These varieties are known for their beauty, consistency, and proven performance for both growers and florists. Kenya remains one of De Ruiter’s strongest regions for breeding and production.

From Colombia: The Bright and Resilient Rose Happy Mood

During this year’s Proflora in Bogotá, De Ruiter Colombia introduced several new rose varieties. One of them quickly stood out: Rose Happy Mood. This rose combines a vivid color, high productivity, and strong resistance to disease. It performs exceptionally well under Colombia’s variable climate, where humidity and temperature shifts make rose cultivation challenging.

Laura Fajardo, Commercial Manager at De Ruiter Colombia, explains:

“Weather in Colombia can make rose production complex, so low disease levels are crucial for our growers. ‘Happy Mood’ meets that need. It shows low susceptibility to Downy Mildew while maintaining strong performance in the field.”

With a minimum bud size of 6 cm and an average stem length of around 60 cm, Happy Mood is designed for both growers and the retail market. It’s one of four bright new colors that match the taste of the United States, Colombia’s main export destination. Early production results show uniform growth and reliable yields, making Happy Mood a welcome addition to De Ruiter’s Colombian portfolio.

From Ecuador: Color That Pops

Ecuador adds another layer of color with X-factor, Pink Darling, and Pink Punk. These new introductions focus on vibrancy and form, offering growers and designers roses that stand out in arrangements while remaining productive in the field. Born Free is gaining popularity among growers as a moneymaker with its high productivity.

The Signature Lines

De Ruiter’s signature collections are as relevant as ever. The Enigma Line continues to fascinate with unexpected shapes and color effects. The X-Pression Line brings a natural, open, garden look that’s highly appreciated by designers. Rose Arctic White is taking off to become one of the favorite white roses for its purity and strong vase life. And Rose Ever Red keeps its place as one of the most reliable reds worldwide.
