Nestled between two rivers at an elevation of 1,850 – 1,950 m above sea level, Flora Ola Limited (derived from Flora for plants and Ola from the farm’s name Ol-Banata and the river bordering it) has built a reputation for premium flower growing.

In partnership with the marketing initiative World of Spray Roses, Flora Ola is now firmly established among member growers who specialise in exporting top-tier spray roses developed by the breeder, Interplant Roses.

From Summer Flowers to Spray Roses

Established in 2011, Flora Ola initially focused on summer flowers, including golden-glory solidago, a wide range of new lines of hypericums (China white & red), limoniums such as Safora Blue, a full range of anigozantos, eryngiums, papyrus, Ammi Visnaga, and others. The farm expanded its summer flowers to 27 ha until a major hailstorm in 2014 devastated the harvest. In response, Flora Ola Ltd made a strategic shift into greenhouse-based flower-farming and diversified into roses.

In 2014, the farm launched 10 hectares of standard roses for its first phase, and has since expanded to approximately 13 ha of standard roses, 20 ha of spray roses, and 4 ha of summer flowers. Under this new direction, Flora Ola continues to invest in propagation methods and innovative varietal development to deliver premium spray and other exclusive flower varieties. Today, the farm has a total of 42 ha in production, and at the moment, 70% of this is covered by spray roses, making it the biggest product within their portfolio.

Partnership Rooted in Trust: Flora Ola & Interplant Roses

A major factor underpinning Flora Ola’s spray-rose success is its relationship with Interplant Roses, with nearly 80 % of Flora Ola’s spray-rose portfolio coming from the breeder. As Farm Manager Lucas Choi explains,

“Interplant was selected for its “reliability in terms of growing, ease of cultivation, reduced pests and disease pressure.”

On top of that, Lucas emphasises the long-standing strong relationship between Flora Ola and Interplant: the breeder supplies new varieties, technical support on each variety’s growing profile, and early access to new lines.

This combination of varietal performance and collaborative support has enabled Flora Ola to focus on just what matters: growth, quality, and consistency, making it a valuable member of the World of Spray Roses network.

Why Interplant Spray Roses Excel at Flora Ola

Flora Ola’s decision to adopt Interplant varieties across such a large proportion of its spray-rose acreage offers several advantages:
