With a floral career that started when she was 18 years old, Yasmine Mei knows she has the best job in the world: working with flowers day and night. Her first moments in floristry began at an early age when she started working at a flower stand in Laguna Beach, California. Over the years, she has developed a special style that many floral designers worldwide look up to. Her work has been featured in various publications, highlighting her as one of Los Angeles' most fashionable florists. Outside her work with flowers, Yasmine has a strong connection to the natural world, often drawing inspiration from her travels and personal experiences.

Playfully combining the classic with the unusual. This is what defines Yasmine's floral work. Southern California native Yasmine Mei has a magical touch when it comes to flowers. Her vintage-inspired designs are romantic and earthy, but elegantly so.

Her influence extends beyond flowers—her personal style, branding, and the way she curates her social media presence contribute to her reputation. She has worked with high-profile clients, luxury fashion brands, and stylish event planners, further solidifying her status as a tastemaker in both the floral and creative industries.

Yasmine’s approach is less about following trends and more about creating pieces that can be perceived through different eyes in different ways and artful arrangements that align with the aesthetic sensibilities of the fashion and design world. One day she might be inspired to create something towards the simple side, while another day she could be mixing around textures, sizes, and colors that for some could be very rare, but to her eye, and for many others, they are perfect.

Flowing Organically With the Nature of Flowers

It all happens organically for Yasmine. When working on a specific order, she adheres to the designated palette or flower selection. However, when given creative freedom, she chooses flowers based on what looks best at the moment. Interestingly, her floral selections often end up mirroring the colors and tones of her outfit that day.

She says:

"I’ve always loved nature and flowers. They are my biggest love, outside of my family and travel. I find myself looking forward to season after season because of the multitude of flowers in their absolute prime in their season."

Her flower choices depend on the season, her mood, and what looks best at the market. Sometimes, a simple walk can make her notice the beauty of something she’s seen countless times before—most recently, Bougainvillea. She believes any flower can capture her attention, depending on the day.

She's still pinching herself that it all came together—truly her dream job. Yasmine initially started working at a flower shop, and before Instagram, she gained clients through word-of-mouth. As social media expanded her reach, her work found a larger audience, leading to more opportunities. She remains deeply grateful for the journey and can't wait to see what this floral life brings her.
