Design is never just about objects—it’s about creating places where moments unfold. In this collaboration, two creative minds, Shallima Turizo Dancur of Lottas Floral Studio and Carla Gianella of Sierra Muebles Colombia, joined their talents to reimagine and set up what a table can become with the power of interior design and flowers. Their shared vision turns every surface into creativity where the senses roamed freely and human connections deepened.
A Fresh Take on Flowers for Interior Design
From arrangements of roses and fruits to thoughtfully chosen furniture pieces, they recently created settings in the Colombian interior design store which reflected the impact that flowers have in interior spaces and how necessary they are in any ambiance.
Shallima Turizo, the skilled floral designer approaches floral design as an act of intuition, letting each flower and branch find its place naturally. Her work for this collaboration reflects a garden untamed yet intentional, where every element breathed its own life in its own space, making a floral scene in interiors flourish.
The key ingredients of her designs for this occasion included:
- Two-toned roses by Wayuu Flowers and deep reds created an interplay of light and depth, these colors invite warmth and conversation.
- Candles with their subtle glow cast a softness over the entire arrangement, drawing people closer.
- Crystal and silver accents brought a tactile contrast, grounding the wildness of the flowers with a sense of permanence.
- Seasonal fruits such as grapes and pears sat among the arrangements, offering a tactile and visual connection to nature’s cycles.
The table was not merely a functional space but a gathering point for shared stories, laughter, and quiet reflection.
A Lavender Setting - An Alternative Vision
Shallima’s second concept diverges from reds to explore a cooler, more introspective mood. Alstroemeria Purple Mila and Alstroemeria Purple Rain by Könst Alstroemeria dominated this arrangement, lending a sense of calm and quiet renewal.
- Subtle gradations of purple and mauve brought a meditative quality to the table.
- Each stem was carefully positioned to amplify the setting without overtaking it.
- The furniture’s clean lines anchor the quality of the flowers.
This space feels less like a celebration and more like a pause—an interior environment that recharges.
Interior Design in Motion - Carla Gianella’s Perspective
Carla sees furniture not as static objects but as part of a larger choreography. Her approach integrates floral design into interiors, ensuring every element feels as if it has always belonged there.
On festive table design, she explains:
“Flowers can frame a space like a painter frames a canvas, defining its mood and enhancing its purpose. It’s about understanding the dialogue between form and feeling.”
On color palettes and their role, she states:
“Color is the thread that weaves everything together. The right flowers can either echo or contrast with a room’s textures, transforming it into something entirely new without overwhelming the space.”
A Partnership of Creativity and Soul
The work of Shallima and Carla displayed the power of mutual participation. These table settings don’t just sit in a room but rather ask for the engagement of every person who steps into the store.
Instead of focusing on decor, this collaboration transforms the act of gathering into something richer—a chance to connect, to savor, and to feel at home in the moment.
In Shallima’s words:
“Designing is not about controlling every detail. It’s about letting the materials guide you, leaving enough room for spontaneity, and ensuring the outcome feels alive.”
