For Roses Forever and Viking Roses, IPM Essen remains one of the most important moments in the calendar. The Danish family-owned breeding companies return each year with a clear purpose. It is a place to connect with new growers, strengthen existing partnerships, and present the latest developments across their pot, garden, and cut rose programs.
“IPM is where we meet new customers who are interested in starting production of roses, whether that is Infinity pot-roses or our garden rose series, Plant 'n Relax and/or Sweet Home Roses,” says Rosa Eskelund. “But it is equally important for us to meet our existing partners who already grow our roses around the world and show them what is new.”
What Visitors Will See at the Stand
Visitors to the stand will find the full Roses Forever portfolio on display. The Infinity series of pot roses will be shown across different pot sizes and production systems, suitable for both high-tech and longer culture methods. The Plant 'n Relax Garden roses will be present as well, bringing fragrance and new selections to the stand. Viking Roses will also be represented with their series of cut roses, reflecting the group’s work in breeding across different market segments.
As a family rose breeding company, presence matters. Harley, Anders, and Rosa Eskelund will all be at the stand throughout the show, welcoming growers, retailers, and partners from across the global horticultural industry.
A Long-Awaited Addition to the Infinity Series
A key highlight at IPM Essen this year is the introduction of a long-awaited addition to the Infinity range. Infinity Pink Surprise is the newest color in the series, joining White Infinity, Princess of Infinity, Yellow Infinity, and Queen of Infinity.
“The first Infinity rose was introduced in 2012, and it was white,” Rosa explains. “Since then, we have developed several colors, but this dark pink has been requested by our growers for a long time. Things take time in breeding, and now Infinity Pink Surprise is ready. We believe it will be very successful.”
Efficiency and Responsible Production
Beyond color, the Infinity concept is built around efficiency and consistency. The roses are easy to grow, easy to sell, and known for long lasting flowers. From cutting to finished plant, Infinity roses can be produced in just ten weeks. This shorter production cycle enables growers to create more plants in a smaller area, using the same energy input, while supporting more responsible production without compromising quality.
Why IPM Essen Matters
IPM Essen also plays a strategic role in the wider ambitions of both companies. Each year, new contacts and collaborations emerge from the show, often from unexpected regions.
“We meet new customers and partners from China, the USA, Africa, Europe, and Australia. Really, from all over the world,” says Rosa. “It is a big window for us and a key place to build new relationships.”
What’s in Store for 2026
Looking ahead to 2026, breeding remains at the core of Roses Forever and Viking Roses. The teams are actively testing new varieties across all series with a strong focus on health, durability, and resistance.
“We are breeding roses that are easier to grow, more durable, and healthier,” Rosa concludes. “Strong, resistant varieties are essential if roses are to be grown with lower environmental impact. This is where our work continues.”
As IPM Essen approaches, Roses Forever and Viking Roses arrive not just with new varieties but with a clear vision for the future of rose production. Visitors to their stand can expect insight, conversation, and a close look at what comes next.
