A name widely known in the floral industry, Sahid Nahim is quietly—and often innovatively—rewiring the industry’s perspective, approach, mindset, and future. In this trade, his work reads less like a standard career path and more like a series of deliberate collisions: a childhood scented by flowers, a knack for matchmaking strangers into collaborators, and a curiosity about what happens when you connect the right individuals at the right time. With a career that spans more than two decades in the floral industry, Sahid’s journey is a study in passion for connecting, innovating, and thriving together. As the President of New Bloom Solutions, he is among the key figures reshaping how the flower industry operates. He brings together isolated segments and cultivates a culture of teamwork. Driven by an approach that bespeaks his rich industry knowledge, in New Bloom Solutions, he has built an ecosystem that supports businesses throughout the floral supply chain to thrive in the modern, increasingly digital and competitive marketplace within the Americas.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Sahid’s earliest memories are more about flowers than anything else. He recalls his mother working in floral design; his earliest memory is of her arranging flowers at home. He reminisces, “I remember the smell of Gypsophila vividly-sweet and comforting. That scent still brings me joy today.” His father, on the other hand, an automotive entrepreneur in Venezuela, instilled in him the values of thinking outside the box and being a solutions-driven thinker.

Such were the entrepreneurial roots that would later shape his approach to business and innovation. This chapter of his life and the initial connection to flowers later shaped his career. But that was not before he explored other paths that would ultimately furnish him with the perfect skill set. From a young age, Sahid was drawn to the service industry. His high school years working at a country club taught him the special influence of customer experience. At the same time, his college bartending job in Tallahassee revealed his natural talent for connecting people.

Sahid:

"I could spot commonalities, match personalities, and introduce strangers who would go on to form friendships or business partnerships. I have been said to be the blue-bringing people together- even till this day, that is a blessing of skill, and I am thankful for that.”

This seemingly inborn ability to connect people later became a key aspect of his professional identity. The knowledge turned out to be the basis of his current career as well.

His Experiences All Made Sense Later On

From Tallahassee, he returned to Miami and joined a boutique marketing agency known for its creative and hands-on approach. He got into grassroots and guerrilla marketing, working with brands like Truth (anti-tobacco) and developing essential skills in community and people-centered marketing. He says: I learned how to create buzz and big community impact without a big budget. That knowledge became a core pillar in how I approach branding and marketing.”

Later, a personal battle with cancer shifted his mindset. After chemotherapy and recovery, he realized life has to have meaning and purpose. This realization and reflection led him to explore luxury fashion and corporate retail. More learning followed. There, he refined his skills in sales, brand development, and high-touch client service.

Then, serendipity struck. Another defining moment came along. Sahid stumbled on a floral industry job posting, and the connection was immediate, almost like it was planned. Suddenly, his childhood memories, marketing savviness, and desire to connect individuals collided, and it all made sense; all his earlier experiences converged in this opportunity. That was a moment that changed him. Everything he had done before prepared him for this: the hospitality, the community building, the storytelling, and even the adversity. They all made him the entrepreneur and community builder that he is.

Professional Growth Alongside Industry Bigshots

Sahid’s professional career in the floral industry began in earnest at Esmeralda Farms, where he was an Account Executive and Sales Trainer from July 2006 to July 2013. The experience exposed him to so much more. He refined his skills in sales, brand development, and the importance of customer customer-centric mindset.

Sahid:

“Before Zoom and e-commerce became industry standards, they were already using both. It was there I learned that innovation isn’t about being first — it’s about the ongoing commitment to improve, adapt, and evolve with intention.”

His time at Esmeralda taught him the utmost importance of customer service—treating clients as partners and deeply understanding their evolving needs. He saw firsthand that by empathizing, supporting, and consistently innovating for customers, long-term trust and loyalty could be built. This client-centered approach later became fundamental to his future professional philosophy.

Sahid also worked at Royal Flowers Group as a Floral Account Executive, where he gained more insights into the critical role of branding, storytelling, customer journey, and curiosity in business success. He recollects: "I saw firsthand how companies that embraced modern marketing, brand identity, and internal company culture were the ones that thrived." This period also saw him launch @nyc_flowermarket on Instagram, which showed him how digital platforms could effectively bridge gaps in the floral world.

Sahid:

“These experiences helped me realize that I was always building a community, whether it was hosting happy hours, bringing co-workers together, connecting vendors, or mentoring clients on branding and social media best practices. I was already doing what would become New Bloom Solutions.”

Enter New Bloom Solutions, Bridging Gaps and Nurturing Floral Businesses’ Growth

In August 2019, he founded New Bloom Solutions, a boutique agency dedicated to the floral industry. The inspiration came from a significant gap he always observed: isolation between different industry segments. Farms, wholesalers, florist, startups and distributors, he notes, were working in silos. There was no central hub connecting the floral industry within itself, and with different vetted services and innovations.

His new outfit sought to be the unifying nucleus. It sought to connect businesses with the right experts and prospective partners for their specific needs. New Bloom Solutions’ mission, he says, can be summarized in three words: innovate, connect, and bloom. It therefore supports innovation by uplifting startups and new ideas, connects the industry within itself and with new markets, and in turn helps the entire flower segment bloom through collaboration, specialized services, innovation, and community-building.

Yes, I run a business and I'm proud of what we've built, but it's bigger than that. I genuinely love seeing others succeed, even competitors or those I once inspired, who are now in the same space. That means the industry is expanding, and that's a win for all of us,” he confirms.

His altruistic approach is summed up in a personal maxim: ‘Innovate with intention, connect with purpose, and bloom with meaning'. For him, it is all about creating meaningful connections, building and nurturing innovation, and ensuring that the entire floral industry blooms together with renewed purpose and life.
